Ch15

NADIA:
It's now been a couple of weeks since I've been saved from my foster parents. I couldn't be happier with how everything is now.

I'm closer to my family.

Especially Eli and Alexei.

Today we get to go to the shopping mall again, I have to get more clothes, since it's nearing summer, I only have winter or fall clothes, so I may need to get more.

As usual, I was the first one awake and I didn't mind that. I walked downstairs to the sitting room and sat down, flicking through the channels to see if there is anything good on.

I heard movement from outside the house and I slowly sat up, walking to the back door and sliding it open, I saw Nico and Alexei were awake now, since they were in the kitchen.

I walked out the back door and saw a little animal in the backyard. I moved closer and saw a little kitten in the grass.

"Nico! Alexei!" I yelled walking back into the house. The boys came running over and saw my happy face, which made them confused.

"There is a kitten outside! Can we keep it?" I exclaimed, hoping they would say yes.

The boys looked at each other and then at me.

This isn't going to be good.

"We'll have to ask Mom and Dad first but I don't see why not" Alexei smiled. I squealed and hugged both of them.

I went back outside, but before I could, Nico yelled at me. "Bring this with you" he handed me a blanket and smiled at me before I ran back out.

I slowly walked over to the kitten and picked it up, surprisingly it didn't swipe at me, I brought the kitten back inside and I saw both my parents standing at the door.

Oh no.

"You can keep the kitten, if you promise to look after it" Dad said with a smile. I smiled back and hugged him, being careful of the kitten.

We found a small basket and put the kitten, wrapped in the blanket, into the basket. We were bringing her to the vet for injections and for her to get wormed.

Whatever that means.

Once we got everything sorted. We quickly drove home, mom stayed with the kitten because we still needed to get clothes for me.

When me, Nico and Eli got to the mall, we walked around and picked out clothes that would work for summer.

Once we had everything, we once again went to the food court and got a quick bite to eat. My eating habits were getting a lot better so I was able to eat more food, but my eating habits weren't completely gone.

"Do you want any food?" Eli asked with a small smile. I nodded my head and he got me a bag of chips. I quickly ate my chips and we headed home.

Once we got home, I walked upstairs with my bags and sorted them into my closet, when I turned around, I saw a box on my bedside table. It was a rectangular box, I walked over to my bed and picked up the small box.

It was wrapped in a present paper, I slowly unwrapped it and I saw it was a phone?

I never had a phone.

"It's so you can call and text us"  I jumped when I heard the voice behind me. I slowly turned around and saw my dad standing at the door.

I walked over to him and hugged him tightly. "Thank you, I've never had a phone before" I explained. Dad hugged me back and we stayed hugging for a while, before Dad pulled away.

"You know you can always come to any of us, bambina ok? You can trust us" he said quietly, he wasn't trying to scare me or made me nervous or scared.

And I love him for that.

"Thank you, Dad, I love you" I whispered back, hugging him again.
