-P I P E R-

Piper's mind had been plagued with another dream. She was brought back to when she had escaped the Maze, standing in an unfamiliar office that belonged to WCKD. Piper was standing with her friends, and she caught glimpses of Ava Paige's voice. The one sentence she spoke engraved itself in Piper's mind- everything is going to change. Her dream sped up, as an abrupt gun shot echoed through the air. A young boy, who she recognised as Chuck fell to the floor. She screamed and sobbed into his chest, as her friends tried to calm her down. Piper had already lived this nightmare.

"Everything is going to change."

Piper gasped awake, sitting up quickly as she panted. Her whole body glistened with sweat, staining her t-shirt, as her brown eyes darted around the room she was in.

"Whoa, whoa. Relax." Newt knelt next to her reassuringly, "Calm down, alright? You're safe."

Piper rubbed her eyes, adjusting her breath as she looked around- Newt, Minho, and Teresa surrounded her. The rest of her friends were sat around the room, watching as Jorge and Jade tied an unfamiliar man on a chair.

Thomas and Brenda had made it out of the building, however they had been delayed by a party- where they both had been drugged by a man named Marcus... who Piper guessed was the man in the chair.

"I suggest you talk, you son of a bitch!" Jorge shouted, punching the man again and again, "Where is the Right Arm, Marcus?"

"You heard the man, where is the Right Arm, tú perra idiota!" Jade yelled, as she grabbed Marcus' hair and pulled his head back, "Tell us where they're hiding."

Marcus retorted, "Didn't you come from the Right Arm?"

"I obviously don't remember how to get back, estupido. They move around a lot. " Jade spat frustratedly.

"I assume you're not the brains of the situation then." Marcus laughed, and Jorge punched him again.

"Look, I don't enjoy hurting you. I know you know where they're hiding." Jorge said, "So you tell me, and I'll make you a deal. You can come with us."

"I burned that bridge a long time ago." Marcus scoffed, "Besides, I made my own deal. You're the one who taught me, never miss an opportunity."

Piper asked, "What's he talking about?"

"I'm talking about supply and demand." Marcus replied, "WCKD wants all the Immunes they can get. I help provide that for them. So I lure the kids in, they get drunk, have a good time. And then, later, WCKD comes in, they separate the wheat from the chaff." He laughed sinisterly.

Jade's eyes locked with hers, as rage engulfed Piper's body. Jade noticed this, so retrieved the gun out of her pocket and pointed it at Marcus' head, yelling in Spanish. Everyone took a step forward anxiously, watching cautiously as Jade pushed her gun up against his skull.

"Tell us now!" Jade finally spoke in English so Marcus could understand, "Talk! Tell us or I'll shoot you, you hijo de puta!"

"Okay! Okay." Marcus panicked, "They have an outpost in the mountains. But it's a long way away. You got half of WCKD on your ass, you're never gonna make it-"

"Not on foot." Jorge interrupted, smiling sarcastically, "Where's Bertha?"

"No, not Bertha!" Marcus trembled, as Jorge retrieved the car keys from his pocket, "No, please-"

Before he could complain again, Jade had pulled the trigger, causing the whole group to flinch back. Marcus' head flopped back from the force of the bullet, blood splattering on the wall behind them. Jorge grabbed the gun from Jade's hands, shouting in Spanish as they argued loudly.

Piper's breath trembled, the sound of the gunshot bringing back memories of Winston and Chuck. Her eyes filled with uncontrollable tears, as Jade locked eyes with her once more.

"I did us all a favour, he's a piece of shit." Jade argued, as she looked at Jorge, "He worked for WCKD, what did you expect me to do? Let him live?"

"No!" Jorge shot back, as he escorted the group out of the room, "People would've heard the gunshot. They could call WCKD and lead them right to us!"

"The people also heard you shouting!" Jade argued, "He's better off dead-"

"Jay." Brenda sighed, causing Jade to back down from the argument and follow the group towards the truck. Brenda looked awful, Jade couldn't help but notice the dark rings around her eyes- she blamed the Marcus' party.

Piper looked out of the window of the truck; she had never been in a car before. She watched the view of the mountains and how peaceful it looked, despite the isolated buildings scattered around. She began to imagine what the land looked like before the Flare- not that she remembered, but her imagination was very creative.

The group had gotten out of the vehicle when Jorge had reached a tunnel that had been blocked by many other abandoned cars. The teenagers cautiously looked around the area, poking their heads into car windows to look inside. Piper's fingers traced over a crack in a car's window, it looked like a bullet had shot right through.

BANG!
Gunshots fired from the mountains above them, as the teenagers took cover behind the many vehicles.

"Does anyone know where those bloody shots came from?" Newt called out.

Jade scoffed, "That son of a bitch, Marcus, led us right into an ambush!"

"What do we do?" Piper asked, and her gaze automatically traveled to Jade for help.

The other girl frowned, "Don't look at me. Jorge took my gun."

"For good reason." Jorge remarked, before handing Piper an explosive, "Here. We gotta create a diversion. Get ready to chuck it." He called out to the rest of the teenagers, "Everybody! Cover your ears and get ready to run back to the truck!"

Piper knelt on the rocks, getting ready to throw the device in her hands, when she heard a gun load behind her.

"Drop it." A woman's voice demanded, and Piper reluctantly did so, "Stand up! Move! Don't be stupid- Jade?"

"Harriet?" Jade questioned, before looking at the other girl, "Sonya?"

"Oh my God, we thought you were dead." Sonya lowered her gun and hugged Jade tightly, followed by Harriet.

Jade encouraged the rest of the group to reveal themselves from behind the vehicles, as they walked closer to the two new girls cautiously. Aris stepped forward in shock, "Sonya? Harriet?"

"Aris?" Sonya hugged him too, "You're lucky we didn't shoot your dumbass."

Minho cleared his throat, "Uh, what's happening?"

"We were in the Maze together." Aris explained happily.

"And..." Piper looked at Jade, her eyes flickering in between her and the two girls, a hint of jealousy laced through her voice.

"They're my friends from the Right Arm." Jade explained, as Piper's expression faulted sightly as a wave of jealously washed over her.
