REMEDY

14: The Flare

-P I P E R-

The news about Newt having the Flare tore Piper into pieces, and the girl had cried for hours on end. Of course, Newt didn't want him having a deadly virus to be a big thing, so Piper tried to not make it one. Thomas and Piper were the only people who knew, so far, and Newt wanted to keep it that way until they rescued Minho- that was his priority.

Piper, Jade, Newt, Thomas, and Gally had all stolen guard uniform, sneaking into the WCKD facility and planning to meet at sublevel three- Fry, Brenda, and Jorge were a part of the getaway plan. The group had shot the multiple guards that were guarding the teenagers in holding, before Jade unlocked the doors and helped the teenagers out of their rooms.

Piper searched the rooms, noticing that Minho was absent. She stormed towards Teresa, gritting her teeth, "Where is he?"

Teresa logged into the computer beside her, quickly searched for Minho's whereabouts, as Thomas and Piper stood either side of her. Piper caught a glimpse of Jade, checking each teenager that Newt guided out of the rooms. Piper walked over to Jade quickly, "What is it? What's wrong?"

"Nothing." Jade muttered quickly, as she continued to examine every child's face. Jade looked at Teresa, before insisting, "Hey, you. Can you search someone up on that?"

"Yeah." Teresa nodded quickly, before explaining to Thomas, "Someone's moved Minho to the medical wing. Thomas, that's on the other side of the building."

"Okay. Take me to him." Thomas insisted, "Right now-"

Newt interrupted, "I'm coming with you."

"Newt, no you're not." Thomas disagreed, "You have to stay here, wait with Gally for the serum."

"You can't do this on your own." Newt exclaimed, "And Minho comes first, remember?"

Gally used his tools to try and unlock the vault door to retrieve the serum, he turned to the group frustratedly, "Just go! We're wasting time-"

"No! Teresa, you need to search for someone on that." Jade urged, standing over her shoulder desperately.

Thomas questioned, "Right now?"

"Yes, right now. It will take a second." Jade replied quickly, "Search for Diego Ramirez-"

Newt questioned, "Who's Diego?"

"Jade." Piper sighed comforting, "Vince said that-"

"Vince isn't here." Jade interrupted sternly, before insisting, "Go on, type it into the machine, or whatever. Quickly." She paused, noticing Teresa's silence as she read the screen. A picture of Diego was placed beside the words. Jade's eyes darted in between the screen and Teresa, "What does it say?"

Teresa looked at Jade, "I-I'm sorry."

Jade insisted frustratedly, "Tell me what it says!"

Piper replied softly, "Jade, it says it on the screen. Look, there."

"We really have to go." Thomas urged, as he loaded his gun and placed it in his pocket.
