I stare at my mother in utter shock. Why is she here? How is she here? I don't want her here. Her presence is like reopening old wounds, erasing all of the happiness i've found with Sheldon and his family. "Y/N!" I watch as my mother runs towards me with her arms out ready to hug me. I didn't want anything to do with her anymore. Why is she acting as if she cares for me? I instinctively step back, seeking refuge behind Sheldon. "Y/N, I'm out! aren't you happy?.." My mother asks me as her face shriveled into sadness and frustration. "Please leave." I managed to quietly blurt out. "Y/N, you're coming with me." My mother begins to reach out her hand to grab me. I instantly back away. "No i'm not!"

She grabs my shirt and tries to pull me but fails. "Why would i go with you?! To endure the same neglect and chaos as before?!" I retort, my anger rising. Her expression darkens as she struggles to control her emotions. "..I want to stay with Sheldon." I state firmly, seeking comfort in his presence. "Honey..I'm clean! I don't drink anymore- "I don't care!" I interrupt. I just want her to leave. "You were never a mother to me!" I accuse her, the pain evidence my voice. "She doesn't want to go anywhere with you." Sheldon begins to speak up walking a bit closer to her. "Why don't you just leave?" Mr. Cooper says. My mother begins to slowly walk out of the house.

I've been going back and forth about seeing my mom, but being around her just doesn't feel right. It's painful. I head to the backyard and sit on the grass. Sheldon joins me, placing his hand on my shoulder. I hadn't realized tears were streaming down my face. He sits beside me, wraps his arm around me, and lets me lean on him. "It's going to be okay. You can stay here as long as you need," Sheldon reassures me. I look up, peck his lips, and he asks, "Will you miss me when I leave tomorrow?" I know I'll miss him more than words can say. I nod in response.

He takes my hand, and we head back inside. With the darkness creeping in, I opt for a shower. "It'll be quick, i'm just gonna shower," I inform Sheldon before getting my pajamas and slipping into the bathroom. As the hot water cascades down my hair, it washed away any lingering negative thoughts, wrapping me in a soothing embrace.

I step out of the shower, slipping into my red plaid shorts and snug black strapless top. Peering into the mirror, my mother's reflection stares back at me, triggering a wave of emotions. Tears well up as i yearn for her to be the mother I've always wished for. Suddenly, a knock interrupts my thoughts. "Y/N? I noticed there were no towels, so I grabbed one for you," Sheldon's voice comes through the door. Hastily wiping my tears, I open the door. "Thanks, Lee," I express as I take the towel, moving to shut the door, but Sheldon halts me. "Have you been crying, my lady?" he inquires. How does he always know? to which i simply nod, craving the comfort of being held.

"Come here," he mummers, pulling me into a warm hug. The steamy atmosphere of the bathroom causes him to sweat a bit, yet he pays no mind, simply enfolding me in his arms. As he hugs me, I look up into his bright blue eyes and he just simply kisses me. I feel a sense of belonging i've only experienced with Lee. His care envelops me like never before. Deepening the kiss, he gently places his hands on my waist. Lost in the moment, I never want to part from him. I wish for eternity by his side. Lifting me effortlessly onto the counter, he continues to kiss me, his height still towering over me.

We slowly separate our lips while our foreheads remain close, "It's going to be alright Y/N, i promise," Sheldon comforted me before leading me to his room to rest. I'm grateful to have Sheldon by my side. However, regrettably, I won't have him tomorrow night.

The next morning, I wake up in Sheldon's bed per usual feeling around beside me for Sheldon to notice that he isn't there. Where is he? I quickly look up to see him shoving bow ties into his huge suit case. "Lee?-" "Oh, i'm sorry Y/N, I was trying not to wake you up," He says quietly. I don't say anything but begin to pout. I don't want him to leave. I hate goodbyes, they suck. He notices my unease and slowly walks toward me, placing a gentle kiss on my forehead. "I have to leave soon, But you can come with me!" He says, trying to ease my feelings, though it doesn't seem to work.

After breakfast, Mrs. Cooper signals for Sheldon that it's time to go. This is the part i've been dreading. Sheldon and I slowly making our way to the car, my hand tightly holding his throughout. I don't want him to go, i know i can see him often but it won't be the same. I hate it. Once we arrive, me and Mrs. Cooper helped Sheldon bring his stuff to his dorm room. Sheldon kept telling me science jokes to brighten the mood. He's so cheesy but it makes me laugh because of his effort. As we reach the dorm, Sheldon goes to unlock the door, only to find Paige inside.

"What on earth is happening?!" Sheldon exclaims. "SHELDON!" Paige rushes towards him and embraces him. What? "Ugh, let go of me!" Sheldon shoves her off. "Sheldon, i just thought you could use company since your little girlfriend won't be here with you" Paige remarks in a s condescending tone. What does she mean by that? "I don't want anything to do with you, Paige." Sheldon asserts. "Shelly, be polite." Mrs Cooper intervenes. This year with Sheldon at college is going to be challenging. I'm already dreading it.
