Chapter 12:
~ Katie's POV ~
10th day of our camp. I'm enjoying my summer with these kids and of course with my best friends.
"Big sis, I can't reach the papers on the shelf." The little girl says, her name is Candice.
A 5 year old girl who's also enjoying the camp. Among those kids she's the closer one to me. She's really sweet and bubbly. I remember my childhood from her when my dad is still alive.
I help her reach the pad papers and join her do some stuffs with it. Origami.
"Kendalllll!!" The kids run after Kendall.
The Kendall Schmidt is here again. The kids are crazy over him just like the girls who are wild over him.
"Yow!" He pats me.
I nod.
"Big brother, let's play?" Candice pulls Kendall to sit.
"Ok, ok. What are we gonna do now?" He plays with the kids.
Is he really this close with kids or being nicey-nice for his public image? Hmmm.
I look over with the kids as they play and enjoy themselves.
Suddenly my phone rings.
"Hello?" I answer it, it's an unknown number.
"Is this Ms. Katie Gibbs?" The man from the other line asks.
"Yes. Who's this?" I ask, clueless.
"This is Mr. Gomez of Star Records; the cd demo you sent us is very interesting. I think we should meet?"
Star Records??? I'm gonna be a singer? Are they serious?
"Hello? Still there, Ms. Gibbs?" He says.
"Yes. Yes. Meet? When?" I say, excitedly.
"One of these days, I hope. Just give us a call if you're free."
OMG! This is really real thing.
"Okay. I'll just inform some of my friends and call you back." I say.
"Have a good day." He says and hung the phone.
"Yes!! Yes!! Thank you God!" I jump into happiness.
I stopped when I realize that the kids and Kendall are watching me. Oh Em.
"Uh?" I blushed with embarrassment.
"What makes you weirder?" Kendall chuckles.
"Well, I just got a call from Star Records." I say, broadly smiles.
"What did they say?"
"They like the demo I sent and they want to meet me."
"That's great!" He says, smiling.
"Kids! Let's jump as what Katie did." He says, jumping.
They jump and jump and jump as I did.
"Yaaay!" The kids are having fun.
"I'll buy you sweets when I really get the job." I announce.
"Yehey!" The kids cheers.
"I can get one, too?" Kendall says, wiggling his eyebrow.
"Sure. When I got in that job." I say, smiling.
I hope I can get in. Wish me luck.
