I personally don't like when I see a book involving an OC taking another character's story line.
Like, imagine someone has an OC that is Hayley Marshall's sister. That sleeps with klaus and gets pregnant. That's taking Hayley's story line and some of her importance to the show.
A better idea would be Hayley having a sister or brother that happens to be attracted to Klaus. The only problem is that their sister is pregnant with his child. The story continues on about how Klaus starts becoming attracted to them as well but the OC won't let them be together. She or He doesn't want to mess things up for the baby, they don't want to screw the family up. That would lead Klaus to try and win their heart and show them that they could be together minus all the obstacles.
To me, that would be a better plot than an OC stealing Hayley's story line. {It's also a plot in my plot shop ( -Bamon ) 😉}
No offense at all to anyone who likes those stories or writes those types of stories. It's all my own opinion and we all have to learn to respect the opinions of others. And yes I know I used TO as an example of what not to do, but you get the idea. ~Nicole
