A New Start

            

Light dawned upon her

As she walked down the aisle

She held onto her father's hand

As they both walked towards her future.

He was there,

In his black and white suite,

His dark brown eyes,

And blinding smile made her blush.

She could hear whispers,

She could hear laughs,

But none of them could spoil her day,

As she kept walking towards

A new start.

She stood right in front of him

And looked straight into his eyes,

She allowed herself to get lost

Into his dark brown orbs,

He held her hands in his.

She felt safe,

She felt at home.

The moment they exchanged their:

"Yes, I do"

She smiled,

A few tears ran down her cheeks.

Tears of joy.

That's when she realised,

That all the bad memories

Tied to her past were gone.

It was a new start,

Their new start.
