Unconditional Love

Cold, windy night and brisk walking,
I brace myself as the cold air hits my face,
The tears in my eyes threaten to fall,
Keeping a straight face as I walk down the river,
I take a deep breath as memories of you surge out of nowhere,
Dark thoughts embrace me as I try not to break down,
I promise,
I'm not holding on anymore,
I swear,
I have no more expectations,
But I care too much about you,
I love you too much.

Handsome Italian with a clean shaved face and enticing smile,
A distraction for a few days, a few hours.
Then I drown again as soon as my head hits the pillow,
My dreams are haunted by your quirky smile and dull green eyes,
I long for your touch and your love,
My love for you is infinite and unconditional,
Even if it is of insignificant importance to you.
I can't get enough of your silly jokes,
I can't get enough of your weird anecdotes and your clumsy incidents,
But now I am only facing your silence and it's killing me,
I miss your smile, I miss your endless stories that would make me laugh,
I miss your presence,
I miss you,
But you don't.
And I know and accept that I mean nothing to you,
I am simply writing to share little bits of my sorrow.
