99th Poem: Believe

I believe in so many things,

love, kindness, friendship, 

fairies, the "impossible", 

new inventions, new ideas.

I believe in the population that does care,

the part of the population that does want change

and will work to make it happen.

I believe that people suck and make bad choices,

but I also believe that everyone does so it is okay.

Sometimes, we get lost, some longer than others,

so we need to find our way back. 

Some just might not find their way, even with help.

I believe in happiness, 

I believe in forming relationships,

I believe in treating people how I want to be treated,

I believe in making others smile,

I believe in the beautiful animals that help us,

the wonderful plants that protect us and give us air,

I believe in music, the wonderful beat we follow with our feet,

whether in tune or not.

I believe in a better future,

a better world, 

in other cultures, of coming together as one,

of unifying instead of tearing each other down,

in my generation, the generation people have lost hope of.

I believe in us.

But I don't believe in myself.
