Chapter 10

The Day of the Festival

" I'm sooo nervous " Sayori whispered to Monika as they stood beside the stage. So many people showed up, are they really interested in the club?

" They're here for my fabulous cookies and cupcakes " Natsuki proudly said. Yuri rolled her eyes.

" Okay guys.. I'll go first " Monika whispered then went onto the stage. People quickly sat in their seats.

" My name is Monika, the president of the Literature Club. Today, me and my fellow members will read to you our poems " She announced then took a deep breath, " My poem is called: Walls "

Walls

This structure of piece stands before me
This structure of piece stands around me
I couldn't see the sky and went it would turn night, the walls would grow darker inside
I didn't think I would've survived
Until someone broke down the walls and showed me the light
She was bright as the sun
She wouldn't let the dark run
I wouldn't mind being stuck in the walls again
Cause that would mean, she would save me all over again
I love you with every broken piece of the walls

The crowd applaud. Monika bowed and stepped aside, " And now the Vice President of the Club, Sayori! "

Sayori waved as she got onto the stage. The audience stopped clapping and waited.

" My name is Sayori, Vice President of the Club. And I will read to you my poem: Life "

Life

Life is something with it's tricks
It would sometimes make you believe the feelings you have exist
Life is something with it's shadows
It would sometimes feel like that's all you are
But life is something that lead me to you
You helped me out the shadows
You helped me fight my fears
You are someone I do not deserve which makes me even luckier to call you mine
Life is Life, it has it's ups and downs
But I'm forever grateful that you're in it because
I will forever love you with every last breath of mine

The crowd admired and clapped for Sayori. She stepped beside Monika, " And now for our good friend, Yuri!~ "
Yuri shyly walked onto the stage, slightly shaken up.

" M-My name is Y-Yuri.. I will r-read to you m-my poem: Scars " she finished saying then looked down at her poem.

Scars

Every night, these scars stayed by my side
Every day, these scars would hide
I didn't think anyone else would be by my side beside these scars
Until someone waved over and called my name
I was confused at first cause I never had a friend
She introduced me to more and it really felt strange
But the more I stayed, the more I knew, these scars are old news
My friends will never be overdue

Yuri grabbed the paper a little tight, hearing people applaud made her heart race even more. Did they really like it? She quickly stood beside Sayori.

" And now our final member, Natsuki! " Monika announced. She stepped on stage a little shaken up as well, " M-My name is Natsuki. I will read to you my poem: Stars "

Stars

There can't be a night without stars
But a night without my friends, dulls my star
I wouldn't be who I am today, without the other stars
They're all so bright, so kind and I'm happy to shine beside them
The stars in the sky, shine until one of them die
But that's not how it works in our sky
If one dulls, the other will be there till the dull star shines
If one star gets lost, the other will create a light for it to find
Our stars will never be torn apart

Everyone applaud, the girls stood beside Natsuki and bowed.

" The sign up sheets are on the podium, please take one and make sure to turn it in, tomorrow " Monika announced, " Have a wonderful day everyone!~ "

" That was fun!~ " Sayori ran onto the field happily.

" Yes it sure was " Monika said as she sat on the grass. Sayori walked back looking at the sky, " Woahh "

" Yes the sky does look lovely Sayori " Monika giggled.

" Hey Monika " she began and sat beside her, " What do you want your future to be? "

" I don't care what it is.. As long as you're in it " Monika answered then gently kissed her lover.
