tuesday april 24th 4:10 am est
incoming call from "elliot"
"what do you think the odds are-"
"hi, nice to talk to you too"
"i mean there are eight million people in new york city"
"and?"
"you happened to be the one to find my notebook"
The two both held smiles on their faces, despite the early hour.
"that's gotta mean something right?"
"i'd like to think so"
"so would i"
the conversation flowed so easily between them, as if they had known each other for centuries.
they told stories, teased each other, but most importantly, they truly listened to each other.
they both knew they'd be exhausted the next day, but neither seemed to mind.
they finally said their goodbyes when carter's flight was called-
four hours and twelve minutes later.
