Naruto dragged himself to the bridge where he was supposed to meet his team. His stomach had gone all stiff and hurt with every step, and the pounding in his head wasnt planning on stopping any time soon...his hand....well, he tried not to think about it.
Kurama wasnt talking to him so as to save chakra. Fair enough.
He took the longer route to avoid the villagers.
First mission huh? It would surely be a D-rank mission, and could range from all sorts of dumb un-shinobi-worthy tasks to eliminating small bandits and thief.
It wasnt wise to be excited about your first mission. You are most likely to be disappointed.
Naruto sighed. He reached the bridge to find Sasuke leaning against the railing and Sakura pacing near him, muttering things Naruto couldn't hear.
His throat hurt. He remembered Kurama's advice of not talking much. It was bound to make his team suspicious but now wasn't the time for pretending. His mask would have to wait. Can't a person just feel tired?
Unfortunately, Sakura saw him first. Her face twisted into a scowl as she marched up to him. Usually Naruto would have acted scared and tried to defend himself, but not today.
His face remained blank and emotionless like Sasuke's while Sakura started shouting.
"WHY ARE YOU SO LATE HUH? YOU USELESS LOSER! DO YOU KNOW HOW TO READ THE TIME OR ARE YOU TOO DUMB FOR THAT?!"
She raised her fist and threw a punch at Narutos head, but at the last moment he dodged it with a simple "sorry". Now,he wasn't going to risk her opening his wounds.
He walked past Sasuke and stifled a yawn. Sasuke turned to look at him.
"Still sleepy?" He asked.
Yeah
Sasuke smirked, making Naruto frown. Did he say that out loud?
Whatever.
He sat down and rested his head against the wooden railing. His head tilted towards the sky. His hair covered half of his face while he closed his eyes.
Just some peace and quiet.
And then, appeared Kakashi! (Flower petals start raining)
Sakura pointed an accusing finger at Kakashi and said "Why are you late? Aren't you our sensei? You should be on time!"
Kakashi eye-smiled and replied in a calm sing song voice "Sorry I'm late, I had to help an old lady make tea."
'tea?' all the genins thought.
"Anyways," Kakashi said "Let's go get our first mission!"

Hokage Tower:
"Team 7, your first mission is," the hokage opened a scroll marked 'D' "to eliminate a group of bandits. Since this team contains 2 toppers and one of our best jounin, we decided to let you have this mission. It shouldn't be difficult unless these bandits are shinobis."
Oh well, I don't think I was one of the toppers though.
" Team 7, let's go! Meet me at the gates in 15 mins! "
"Sensei are you sure?"
"What do you mean?"
"Will you be on time?"
"Of course! Are you suggesting that I'm usually late? I'm hurt Sakura. I truly am."
"I didn't- oh well..."
