Day three.

And the doctors told him he showed improvement. Although, he wasn't sure about Naruto. Even though the curtain between their beds was a sort of boon, Sasuke would very much like to see  or rather observe Naruto.

He tried not to sleep at night due to the reoccurring nightmares, but usually failed. He woke up many times sweating and panting... And hoping he did not wake up Naruto. Last night he had checked upon Naruto, just to make sure he hadn't seen or heard anything. Instead of finding him sleeping, he found him standing near the window.

Naruto sighed at something. And sat on the edge of his bed still facing the window.

"I hate my life." He muttered to himself. It was barely audible and Sasuke wouldn't have heard it if he wasn't trying to.

"Don't you agree?" He asked.

Sasuke was momentarily frozen, thinking that was aimed at him. But then Naruto sighed and said "Of course you don't." This reassured Sasuke. He wasn't seen. Yet. But now, all he could do was wonder. Who was Naruto talking to. After a lot of unnecessary thinking, he came to the conclusion that it was the Nine- Tailed fox.

It was still a bit unnerving to think that Naruto actually talked to that thing...and that he would say something like "I hate my life." That just isn't who Naruto is.
Must be the side effects.

He lay in his bed, surrounded by his thoughts when Naruto peeked through the partition.

"Hey. I think we should pull back this curtain, what do you say?" He asked. His tone was so...normal that Sasuke couldn't Naruto saying something negative. As for the partition...he didn't actually mind.

"Why though? Are you scared?" He taunted.

Naruto didn't respond for a few seconds and they stared at each other, then said "Actually, I am. A bit scared. And no that isn't why I wanted to pull it back. Actually, you have quite a lot of visitors. And it would be nice to see someone in a while you know. Oh and don't you feel hot and suffocated? It's quite airy this side."

Well, that's not quite what he expected.

"Fine."
He did actually feel bad for Naruto. He actually didn't have any visitors except Kakashi sensei. But he, Sasuke, had a regular hoard of visitors. And a desk full of get well soon cards and flowers.

Whereas Naruto's desk was practically empty. Except for that bottle of pills that he hadn't even touched yet.

Well, he didn't care. Should he?
____________

Naruto lay there on his bed, which was comfortable for a change, and closed his eyes. He could feel Sasuke's eyes on him every once a while, and Kurama had laughed about it saying that Sasuke was "checking" him out.

As if.

It was a bit surprising when Sasuke agreed on pulling back the partition, after all, it was basically a blessing for him.

But Naruto wanted others to remember that he too was stuck here. That he too was going through the same thing as precious Sasuke-kun.

He had noticed that Sasuke had nightmares, and he would've checked on him but didn't because... Hell. Why should he??!
Has he. Sasuke. Ever bothered to ask him?
Even though he (Naruto) knew a few tricks to calm yourself down after a nightmare, he didn't offer them to Sasuke.

After all, how could a person who couldn't even accept his theory on a small test, accept his tips on nightmares?

Huh. Naruto and his kind heart.

Kind?

I haven't killed anyone yet...

Alright. Though I wouldn't call ya "kind".

And I wouldn't call ya fit.

Where did my weight come from?!

All those things you've been eating.

Dumb human jinchuuriki with a big mouth.

Naruto smirked to himself, unaware that this was making Sasuke rather uncomfortable. I mean, sharing a room with someone who just randomly smirked to himself was quite...unusual.

Deep down though,  Naruto was constantly being haunted by those memories. Because of which he had completely ditched sleeping. And anyways. He frequently did so even before the Academy so it wasn't a big deal. Though Sasuke would definitely notice his dark shadows and bags.

As long as he didn't ask, Naruto would behave like nothing happened.

He opened his eyes and saw something glinting on the desk. His eyes widened. A knife?! He started breathing heavily as those memories of being repeatedly stabbed came back. He grasped the sheets in his hands and sat up, shaking.

"Naruto?" Someone's voice. It sounded so distant.

They were coming for him. And they had a weapon.

__________

A/N

Done.
Not much but I thought I should write about their time in the hospital together. Maybe some feels.
(Though I'm sure I failed terribly)

Anyways. I tried to write from Sasuke's point of view because I don't want him to neccesarily hate Naruto. I want a bit of bond to be there.

I'm trying guys. Sometimes it gets boring though... Hehe.
*Awkward awkward*
