Harley's POV

"Who's there?" My voice came out weak and shaky and I was on the verge of tears. I couldn't help it, this intruder is going to kill me and my brother since my mom had a late shift at the hospital. I'm not physically strong to take on this person and running upstairs to wake up Sam would be risky.

I fumbled with the flashlight of my phone to get a better glimpse of the stranger. When my flashlight flickered on the silhouette disappeared and Milo's whimpering seized.

Where did it go?

I slowly walked to the kitchen but saw no one there. The only way it could have escaped was through the backdoor which was locked.

Maybe you're just managing things Harley.

No I was not. There was definitely something here. Evidence of that was Milo remaining in the same position he was in when I came down.

I didn't know what to make of the situation. Going to sleep after what I just saw was going to be an impossible task now. I turned on the security system of my house and walked towards my brother's room. We lived in a safe neighborhood so there was never a need to have the system on.

Sam was sleeping peacefully in his bed.

"Sam" I whispered while shaking his shoulder.

Sam grunted a little and said "Elena?" I couldn't help but roll my eyes. Last summer Sam became obsessed with the Vampire Diaries, especially the main girl Elena Gilbert.

"No dumbass. Can I sleep with you tonight?" Before Sam could reply I shoved myself under the blanket of his queen-sized bed.

He groaned and turned away from me to sleep. My mom will probably question me about this in the morning since she usually checks on us when she comes home. I wanted to protect him from whoever was in this house. Low key, however, I just didn't want to be alone.

I slowly fell into a light slumber as thoughts of the tall intruder lingered in the back of my mind.

October 29th, 7:32 am

I woke up the next morning, not by choice but because Sam decided that now was the best moment to dip my hand in a basin of water as I slept. Thankfully, I didn't pee his bed although I should have.

Today was Friday, my favorite day of the week. Tonight, Grace and Liam wanted to go to a new club that just opened up called Nephilim. I couldn't help but raise my eyebrows at the name. Who names a club that? I didn't even know how to pronounce that. I gave in when I saw their pleading eyes and their pouts which made them look slightly constipated. I sighed giving in.

I could use a night out. Nothing interesting ever happens at Hill Town and I needed a distraction from all of the crazy shit that has been going on lately. Besides, what could go wrong?
