Chapter 16 - Beastmen Capital

(A/N: I can't remember if it was stated before, and I'm way too lazy to go back and check, but just as an update in case people didn't know. The eye that Sora lost was the normal blue eye, and the one he was able to keep, which holds the power of the skill Eye of God, is the golden eye with the diamond tattoo underneath it. Also if he had lost the golden eye, then he would have also lost the Skill, Eye of God, that was imbued in it. Anyways, enjoy the chapter!!! This is a long one!)

We've been traveling for about a good week, maybe a week and a half. There hasn't been too much trouble, and the only things that have attacked us were some pretty weak monsters. Nothing the other adventurers couldn't handle though. However, since this journey was supposed to help the Hero gain some combat experience, he was the one to do most of the fighting, while the other adventurers were mainly there for support if things got too out of hand.

When he almost lost to a Troll someone stepped in and took care of killing it for him. Then the Hero grew angry with the guy and attempted to berate the man who saved his life. Until the adventurers party member came up and smacked the Hero reminding him that if it weren't for them then he would have died.

The Hero stayed quiet after that, and in fact he never really spoke much during the trip afterwards, except when he would chant for his spells.I also learned from Wayhill, that this would also be doubling as Scouting for the Hero's future party members. Boy do I feel sorry for those that get stuck with that job. The Hero, Ryouta, was kind of insufferable. He also kept coming to the back of the formation, just to try and strike up a conversation with Sana, no matter how many times she would ignore him.

He never really tried talking to any of the men in our group, instead he was just trying to talk to all the girls. Some of them were really interested in talking to him, and a few offered to even join his party. It seems like he was a ladies man, and he was most likely one of those cliché guys where they get summoned to another world, and try making a harem with all the girls he meets. The thought has crossed my mind before as well, but when I think about the fact that I never age it makes it difficult to try and get a single love interest. The only one that I believe I could get romantically involved with is Sana, because she also never ages like me. Then there's also Noroi, although I think the fact that she is my weapon might make things a little complicated.

I'm nervous about what will happen if I end up becoming romantically interested in another girl...and then because I never age, I have to sit off to the side while I watch her grow old and I end up never changing. Another thing, is whether or not I can even have children...I guess we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

Sana and I haven't really spoken much during the journey, and some of the time I would talk to Noroi using telepathy. Apparently she doesn't like the Hero either, because she believes he has a bad personality. I agree with her though, he does seem like an insincere guy that's only looking out for his own interests, and always trying to find a way to benefit himself instead of finding a way to benefit everyone.

After traveling down the road for a while, it was decided that we would be setting up camp for the night, and that hopefully we should be reaching the beastmen capital by the end of tomorrow, which I learned was called Serali.

As Sana and I hopped off of Ikari, Ryouta had decided to walk up to us once again. Probably so he can invite Sana over to camp out with him. Something that she never agrees to, but he seems determined to try and be with her. Just like every other night, she just ignored him, and proceeded to assist me in setting up our campsite. I could really tell that he was getting frustrated by this and what he said next really ticked me off, "Look, you're a beautiful girl, so you don't have to pretend to be with your boyfriend if you really wanna come spend some time with me. I am the Hero that'll defeat the Demon King after all." I was ready to punch this guy in the face, and send him flying into the forest. Before I could though, Sana stood and walked up to Ryouta. I watched out of the corner of my eye as I continued to set up the campsite for us, while she rested her hand against his chest. I spotted a smug smile spread on his face as he looked over at me.
