Chapter 28 - Weapons Test and Realization

Also I'm sorry about the break! My Grandmother had passed away so I needed some time to mourn. 

I will be trying to update every week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. This schedule will go into effect starting next week, I will try to get another chapter out this Friday before it starts. Hope you enjoy!

We were going to do the weapons test first for Noroi and I, and then afterwards we would be doing the magic test with the gauge for Sana and I. So, for now, the students in the class were asked to sit to the side and use the test as an opportunity for a learning experience. I mean, I don't like being used as a learning experience, especially when I know I can't use my full strength. However, I guess this is the best they can do for three random transfer students. The only question I have, is why there wasn't a date that was scheduled as our 'testing' day. Then again, things seem to have changed drastically on Earth so this may be the new norm.

While the students were moving over to a seating area to watch over the testing, I noticed that one of the students was my sister. Taking a closer look, she didn't look like her old smiley self. She seemed a lot more serious...the bright and cheery version of her I knew before I died was gone. She also seemed a bit older. How long was I in Auralel? It couldn't have been for more than six months.

On her way to the seating area, she gave me a look over. It wasn't a friendly look either, it wasn't even filled with disinterest. Her look felt like she was hoping I would end up getting seriously injured during this test...she sure has changed hasn't she?

After the class sat off to the side I was introduced to the weapons instructor, and when I got closer I realized that he was from the demon race. Seeing that he was a demon, I had flashbacks from when I fought that general. I knew that this guy had nothing to do with that event, but I still put my guard up and remained cautious as he came closer.

"My name is Vexus, and I am one of the teachers in charge of weapons training for the students. Alienor has explained to me that you three will be transferring into the school? Normally we wait until specific set dates for transfer students to take the test, however Alienor is a very well-respected person around here. Which means, if she says she wants the test done right away, then it will be done right then and there." (Vexus)

So the elven woman seems to be more important at this school than I had originally thought. I knew she was important since she was a magic instructor, but she apparently is someone with a lot more pull in this school than I thought.

"Alright Sir. What do we need to do for this test?" (Sora)

"Well usually, we have the students fight another student. I suppose we could still do that....HEY! Which one of you brats wants to test the newbie?!" (Vexus)

It was quiet among the students as they looked around at each other waiting for someone to volunteer for the testing. However, before anyone could react, one student stood from her seat and came over to stand in front of Vexus. It was my sister Kaede.

"I will participate in the test sensei!" (Kaede?)

It was my sister Kaede, and she had that determined and fierce look in her eye. I seriously don't understand what her issue is with me, but I know she doesn't like me for some reason.

However, something keeps bothering me...Vexus said that Alienor is a well respected person at this school right, but it shouldn't have been that since this all occurred, right? Plus how could the school have been expanded this much in under a year? Even with magic it would still take quite a long time to get to where it is today...so why does it look as if my sister hasn't even aged that much at all?
