Chapter 18: Trust: Part 2

I picked up the phone.

“Hello? Alex?” Andrea said.

“Yeah?” I replied with a lazy tone.

“What is happening? Are you okay? What are the newspaper reports all about?”

“Aha! I knew it! That could be the only reason why you called me. Wanted to know if the break-up rumors are true or not? Well in that case. It isn’t!”

“No. I didn’t mean that!”

I hung up. I wasn’t in mood to clear out everyone’s doubt.

Enough of waiting for Justin to call me. I’ll call him.

I picked up my phone. I pressed the speed dial button with a hope that he would pick up. The bell rang for some minutes and alas, he picked it up.

“Hello? Justin?” I said.

No reply from the other end. I could hear thousands of people screaming, loud Music. It felt he was at a dance party or something.

“Justin? Can you hear me?” I said on the top of my voice.

“Who is this?” Justin said.

Okay. Wow.

“Alex” I said.

“Oh Alex. Actually my contacts got erased.” He sounded so uninterested.

“Where are you? Why haven’t you called me?”

“Alex, actually…..” Before he could complete his sentence someone interrupted.

I heard a female voice a bit unclear. I concentrated a bit more. It was for sure Selena.

“Baby, will you drop the phone calls please? C’mon let’s dance.” I heard her speaking on the other end of the phone.

“Alex. I’ll call you later. Okay?”

“Justin wait. Justin? JUSTIN?!” he had already hung up.

Does that mean that the newspapers weren’t lying? It was the truth?

I needed a bucket. Tears had started overflowing my bed.

I picked up the phone.
