Chapter 9~

Also a little side note: it's dabi's birthday (jan 18th) so keep in mind this episode will be special!

I woke up and looked at the time, the clock read 6:42 am,
"d•mn its early" I whispered to myself.
The sun was just starting to come up and dabi was still asleep so I decided to get up and make coffee
I walked down stairs to the kitchen and turned on the coffee maker, I put the pod in it and set a cup underneath it
It took a few minutes but once it was done I put sugar and stuff in it and took a sip
"That's hot..but it tastes nice" I thought to myself so I was happy with it. I just took a second and looked out the window at the sunrise, things were perfect.
Like the sunrise was beautiful with the purple, pink and orangy colors, I had coffee and things were very relaxing
I went and sat down on the couch, I grabbed my phone and it was only about 6:53 am so I decided to watch Tv for a bit. So I turned on a show I like and started watching it

It was around 7:30 am now, dabi still wasn't up which really wasn't a problem to me
"Hm...I kinda want something to eat" I say quietly to myself
I got up and checked the cabinets for something to eat
Nothing I saw really interested me
"Hmm..I'll just go down the road and grab something from the gas station" I thought
I went and put on shoes but before I left I decided to leave something for dabi just in case he wakes up while I'm gone so I grabbed a sticky note

I then left it sitting on the table and got in my car
Once I was there I grabbed some food and a drink, well might as well get him something too
I grabbed a few of those energy drinks I always see him get and then walked to the counter and to my surprise it's the lady..that we see every time we come here-
"How many days a week is she here.." I thought to myself
I sat my things on the counter
"Oh hello! Nice to see you again! Where's the other one?" She asks
"Oh uh dabi?" I ask
"Oh! Is that his name? If so then yes!" She says
"Well he's still asleep and I decided to come grab some food and drinks" I say
"Ohh okay total is $10:89" she says
"Okay" I say as I hand her the money
"By the way, are you two??" She asks
"No..heh..we're just friends still..." I say
"Oh well I still think you guys would look good together" she says
"Well thank you but we're just friends.." I say and honestly that sentence kinda made me a bit sad..because with so wish we were more but it's not like it's gonna happen
"Are you okay? You seem kinda sad" the lady asks
"Oh yeah! I'm okay! It's just.." I say
"Just what?" She asks
"Do you like him?" She adds on
"Well.." I say hesitantly
"You do..I think you should go for it, he seems to show interest based off what I've seen" she says
"Okay, thank you for advice an all but I better get going I appreciate it" I say before walking out
"No problem!" She says
As I was walking to my car I get a text

{texting pov}

Dabi- hey it's dabi, you still at the gas station?

Me- getting I my car as I type-

Dabi- were you bothered by anyone?

Me- no Dabi I'm okay

Dabi- okay see you here

Me- okay btw I got some of those drinks you like for you

Dabi- thx how much were they so I can pay you back

Me- not telling. You're not paying me back.

Dabi- yes

Me- no✨ you payed last time

Dabi- and?

Me- let me pay for this one!

Dabi- fine see you in a bit

{okay back to your Normal pov}

I checked the time before I shut my car door
"7:16 am" I read
I decided to get back home
Once I got home I got out of my car with the stuff and brought it inside. Dabi was standing beside the couch leaning up against it
"Hi" I say
Dabi waves as I start setting the stuff down
I grabbed one of my drinks and some of the food I got and went to sit in the couch
And dabi did the same after grabbing one of his energy drinks
I was scrolling through TikTok and one of the audios was talking about zodiac signs, and I guess dabi heard it
"Do you believe in astrology and horoscopes and all that sh•t?" Dabi asked me
"Yes why?" I said
"Eh no reason just asking" he said
"Hmm okay- what's you're zodiac sign?" I asked him
"Capricorn" he said
"Hm so December 22nd to January 20th..when's ur birthday?" I ask
"Well uh- today.." he said
"What?! And did you just plan on not telling me?" I said
"Well it's not a big deal, I don't celebrate it often..I kinda forgot about it to be honest" Dabi said
"Not important?! No it's very important! Grab your stuff and get in the car" I say
"What why?" Dabi asked me, very confused
"You'll see just do it" I say
Dabi gets up and puts on his shoes and I do the same
We walk out to the car and I get in the drivers seat
"What in the h•ll are we doing" Dabi asks
"You'll see" I say
I didn't tell him where I was planning to go but I was driving us to town, to the bakery to get Dabi a cake

{time skip}

Once we got there I had asked him what his favorite cake flavor was
"You really don't have to do this" Dabi said
"But I want to" I say
I shut the car door and walk in the bakery
"Can I get a chocolate cake?" I said to the women behind the counters
"Yes ma'am" one of them said
"Can I also get happy birthday written on it in dark purple?" I ask
"Yep! Can do!" She then walked to the back

{about 5 minute time skip}

It took them a few minutes but it's fine once they brought it out I took a good look at it
"That's perfect! Thank you" I said
"No problem!" She said
"Total is $15.00" the lady says
"Okay!" I say as I hand her the money
Once I get the cake I go back to the car where dabi's waiting
"Anyone bother you?" He asked me
"Nope all good now hold that and don't let anything happen to it" I say while handing him the cake
"Did you really just go buy me a cake" he said
"Yup!" I say
"Happy birthday dabi" I say with a light smile
"Oh! Thank you..I really do appreciate that" he says
"You're welcome!" I say

{time skip to once we are home}

"Okay let's go inside now" I say
Me and dabi got out of the car and went inside,
I stuck candles in the cake that I've had in my kitchen drawer forever thinking they were useless and would never do any good and lit them
"Make a wish" I said
"Are you serious" Dabi asks
"As a heart attack" I say
"Fine" Dabi says

{DABIS POV!! <3}

"Hmm what the f•ck am I supposed to wish for..oh wait- I wish she was 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗲" I thought to myself

{BACK TO YOURE POV!}

I watched as Dabi blew out the candles,
"Well what did you wish for?" I ask
"I can't tell you or it won't come true" he said
"Fine that works" I say

I then grabbed a knife and took out the candles
I started cutting the cake as dabi went and grabbed plates
I put cake on each of our cakes and we sat down and ate
Things were going very well..he seemed to really enjoy this..whether he acted like it or didn't I could tell..I still wonder why he doesn't celebrate it and said it wasn't a big deal..it kinda made me want to ask about it..but I didn't wanna bother him so I didn't
I looked over and smiled at dabi who seemed to be enjoying the cake
"Is it good?" I ask
"Ha- yeah..thank you for all of this.." Dabi says
"You're welcome dabi" I say
