It was just another day at the compound for Harmony. In her room, all by herself while Hope is out with her family. Even though it was their birthday. It was always like this Hope went out and Harmony stayed in. But what did she expect? Harmony has no choice but to study as her father tells her to so she can 'be as good as Hope' Even though she has been getting straight A's since she was 7 but then again it was all about hope.
Her 'family' came back with the melodic laughs of hope filling the room "HARMONY" her father called
"yes" she called back
"did you study? you have a test coming up and you need to have good grades like hope here"
She looked down at the ground and said: "yes I-"
"Look at me when your talking!"
She flinched at his tone but recovered quickly. At that point, Marcel came subtly and looked at Harmony to check she's OK. Marcel had grown to like the girl after that night he saw her crying in the fields
Flashback- Hope and Harmony's 7th birthday
Marcel heard subtle cries as he walked through the fields. He followed the soft cries only to find Harmony sat down on the grass with her head in her hands as she wept
He looked confused but then figured out why the birthday girl was crying. He slowly approached her not wanting to startle the girl then at the same pace he sat next to her and put and comforting arm around her
She looked up at him dumbfounded at why he was comforting her 'no one ever does this to me' she thought Marcel looked at her with sorrowful eyes and pulled out a gift bag from behind him handing it to her. At that moment she couldn't hold back the tears and they fell out like they did every night
He knew exactly why she was crying over the last couple of weeks he'd noticed how Harmony is always 2nd best to hope. How her parents practically neglect her along with all her other relatives. He started crying with her, he couldn't stop himself, it reminded him too much of when he was a child After the crying stopped Harmony looked at Marcel and gave him a weak smile for the present and proceed to open it
Inside was a beautiful silver necklace with the constellations on it she hugged him and from that moment on Marcel promised the broken girl he would always be there for her as her guardian. Her friend. Her father
