"Why did Mikael start hunting Klaus?" Elena questions

"When Nik made his first human kill, it triggered his werewolf gene" Rebekah divulges "With that, he became my father's greatest shame"

"Yeah" Elena agrees "Elijah told me this part of the story. Your mother had an affair with one of the werewolf villagers. Klaus wasn't his son"

"At least she did something right" Sofia mutters

my arm goes around her as I kiss her

"She tried to make it right" Rebekah tells "She put the hybrid curse on Nik to suppress his werewolf side, and that's when she turned her back on him. But Mikael's greatest weakness as a human was his pride. As a vampire, that was magnified. He went on a rampage and killed half the village that Skule didn't. Then he came home and killed her"

I stay quiet

that's not right

"Mikael killed your mother?" Elena whisper yells in shock

"He said she broke his heart so he would break hers" Rebekah replays what Nik told her "He tore it from her chest as Nik watched. Afterwards, my father took off in a rage, and teh rest of my family scattered. Nik stayed, so he could help me bury her. He knew I had to say goodbye to my mother"

Flashback

"Rebekah is pathetic" I say as Kol, Sofia, and I hide in the trees watching them bury our mother

"She loved your mother" Sofia tells "She just wants closer even if your mother is a harlot"

Kol laughs "Look there making a pact without us. I bet we're still going to have to follow it"

"How about we make a separate one" Sofia gives "One that says we will always stick up for one another"

a hum escapes my lips "Yes, my love"

"I like it" Kol decides "we gang up on them if they gang up on us"

"Precisely" she giggles

"Always and forever...even though he locked you in a coffin for ninety years" Elena asks

"Baby years" I mutter "Try being in there for two hundred or nine hundred"

no one listens

"We're vampires" Rebekah states "Our emotions are heightened. Elijah's moral, I'm stubborn, Sofia is innocent, Skule is hateful, and Nik...Nik has no tolerance for those who disappoint him. Over a thousand years as a family we've all made that mistake at least once. I've made it several times"

"Yes because he wants us all to kiss his ass" I give

"Skule" Sofia sighs "enough"

"But you three still love him"

"he's out brother" Sofia tells "And we are immortal. Should we spend an eternity alone instead? You've heard the story it's time to go. " she doesn't move "I said leave, Elena! I don't know what you're up to, but I'm not longer playing along"

"I'm just looking for one good reason why we shouldn't wake Mikael"

"Your life hangs in the balance" I put out there "That's a pretty good reason"

Sofia laughs kissing me

Elena leaves

"I need a walk" I sigh leaving the house

about a mile out someone comes up behind me

I throw them over me

"Good, boy" my father says "You still got it"

my face grimaces "So they did wake you? That gives me some initiative to kill that doppelganger"

"I take it you're still mad" Mikael grumbles "It's been a thousand years"

"You killed my son" I point out "not to mention Sofia was pregnant when you stabbed her. I will never forgive you, so just go away. I want nothing of your plan to kill Niklaus. Leave my wife and I out of it"

I'm laying on the bed stomach down reading while Sofia is trying her hardest to get all my attention

not that my attention is not already on her because it is

the phone rings making me flip onto my back to answer it

that's when she puts her hand down my pants

"What" I snap answering the phone now only wanting to play with Sofia

"You're in a mood" Nik's voice comes through

she rips my pants and boxers off before whispering in my other ear "be nice and I'll give you a treat"

Innocent one my ass

"I'm sorry" I say "I meant how are you today, dear brother of mine"

Nik starts laughing "What's up with you"

"I think Sofia is using sex to train me like some kind of dog" I groan as she start her ministration

"It seems to be working" he says sounding amused "Anyway, I called you with a purpose"

"That is..." I lead off holding back a sigh when her mouth clamps down on me

"Is Mikael really dead?" he asks "Rebekah says he is and so does Stefan"

"I know he is here" I tell "I also know that Rebekah knows you killed mother"

"So he's probably not dead" Nik determines

"Wow look at you so smart" I snark off making her stop

a whimper escapes me "I meant you're right great brother"

the line is silent

"She's not doing what I think she's doing while I'm on the phone with you is she?" he questions

I look down at her as she starts up again "Depends on what you think she's doing"

Nik huffs "You know what it's not my business what you do with your wife in bed. I'll see you at homecoming" then he hangs up

what? oh shit that feels good

all of a sudden she stops to crawl on top of me

"I like this" I purr "you wanting sex all the time like when you were-" she kisses me to shut me up
