As we drive, I look out the window, looking at the new city that I have already learned to love. Right now, I feel a little home sick, and wish that I could bring myself to open up the miracle box and have all of the kwamis, or at least Tikki, by my side, comforting me.

I just sigh, and Tony says, "What you thinking about kid?" "The good parts of my old life. When I had good friends, and when I would wake up and smell pastries and croissants and other baked goods. I miss my mom and dad, and them constantly being there, supporting me. I miss the view of Paris from my balcony, and I miss my teacher. She was caring and constantly asking if I was okay. Now, only a few people care about me, and I am not close with anyone, except for maybe you. But I don't even know anything about you, so I guess not."

I whisper out this last part, "I feel so alone right now." Tony reaches over, and grabs my hand. "I can't imagine what it is like for you kid. I am so sorry that you have to go through this. I am here, and any time of day I will listen. You deserve so much more than people who treat you like an alley cat. I am so sorry. And we can get to know each other better." I nod, and hold onto his hand, as if it is the only thing that is keeping me alive.

(Okay just so you know, I don't mean for it to sound romantic between Tony and Mari, but more like a father daughter relationship, you know? Sorry if that didn't get across to some people.)

Soon we reach the school, and he pulls away his hand. "I'll pick you up right after school, ok? See you then." I nod, grabbing my bag and opening the car door. I close the door, and wave goodbye as he drives off. I turn around, and a few people are giving me suspicious looks, but I just ignore them. In a couple of seconds, Peter comes running out of the school, along with Ned and M.J. Peter looks like he is embarrassed while Ned and M.J. have smirks on their faces. "You know? I'm not even gonna ask." I say, and begin to head towards the school.

"So," Peter starts. "How's the new place?" I say, "Not supposed to talk about it. If you want though you can come over after school today if it's ok with your aunt." He nods, then pulls out his phone, texting a few sentences. I also pull out my phone, and call Tony. After a few rings, he picks up and asks, "Miss me already Marinette?" I roll my eyes and say, "Haha. Very funny. I was wondering if Peter could hang out after school." He says, "Sure. But why didn't you text?" I say, "You're driving right now Tony. Thanks. See you at 3:00."

I hang up, and give Peter a thumbs up. He says, "My aunt is okay with it too. Shouldn't we get to class now though?" I nod, and the four of us head to first hour.

------lunch time-------

After we sit down, I grab my lunch out of my back pack. it is just fruits and vegetables, but it is a lot better then what American schools call lunch. As I eat, M.J. asks, "So what did Peter mean about you getting a new place?" I sigh, and say, "I found a better place than a small apartment that was infested with bugs and mice. Peter's apartment was way nicer, and cleaner too. I didn't want to move, but it was the best option for me." They nod, then ask, "Where?"

I bite my lip, thinking about what I am going to say, then finally decide. "Um, it is on the edge of New York. Small apartment, but nicer than the one I was in before. I used uber this morning to be dropped off. I'm not gonna change schools now that I just got settled in." They nod, but Ned asks, "Did Peter tell you?"

"About what?" "About his um, situation?" I laugh, and say, "Peter, did you tell me? There are several things that come to mind when he says that." Peter nods, then says, "You walked in on me standing on the ceiling. She knows Ned." I laugh, remembering the memory, that is sort of true.

"Yeah. Just don't scare him, otherwise the entire world will know." We all laugh, and continue our lunch.

-----Class-----

"Hey everyone! All of the science teachers were told to make this announcement. Since next week is French American friendship week, three classes have been chosen all across Paris to come here for the week. They will be coming to school here for five days, and on Saturday there will be a dance here to celebrate. Any questions?"

After he says this, my heart drops. What if it is them? What if they recognize me even if they weren't in my class? I think. I raise my hand and ask, "Do you know which classes?" He nods and says, "Two from Françoise Dupont High school, and one from another school that I don't know the name of."

"What are the teacher's names for the Francoise one?" He looks down at his paper and reads off, "Ms. Mendeleiev's home room, and Miss. Bustier's home room. Do you know them by chance Marinette?" I nod, and say, "Miss. Bustier's class used to be my home room sir."

Peter looks at me, shocked, and I take in a deep breath. I say, "One of the girls in that class, Lila, lies a lot. Almost everything she says is a lie. She always says that she has so many connections to so many celebrities, and makes up a bunch of problems that she supposably has. Just a warning. Don't believe her. She is good at lying too."

People in the class look at me, and a few of them murmur, while others nod, turning back towards Mr. Anderson.

Peter sneakily passes me a note, and I read it.

Are you ok? Will you be ok?

No. Maybe? I just hope that they don't tell anyone that I came here to get away. My parents will most definitely come here and bring me home.

I sigh, and hand him back the piece of paper. He reads it and nods, looking forward. I end up zoning out for most of the day, and soon enough, it's time to go home, with Peter.
