"You can't do this! They can't be punished of something, they have never committed! And if you think they have did this, so how can you be so sure?!" She rambled.
Lana and Rosetta rolled their eyes together.
"Eleanora baby! But still due to their negligence, your life was at risk. You almost died yesterday." Lana pouted and explained to Eleanora like she was a child.
Nora ignored her but didn't removed her eyes from Serenity's shaking form. She was going to had panic attack then and there, if Nora didn't stopped that guard from hitting Serena.
"Please don't punish her, Sir!" Eleanora whispered, her eyes moving towards from Alexander to William's cold ones. She silently begged with her own.
"Rules are rules Eleanora baby! We can't change that. Please let them do their duty without interruption." Lana stated in a soft, babyish tone.
Nora turned her head to look at her.
"But this is my life you are talking about and I don't want Serenity and Serena to be punish. I know I haven't accepted this but still I can't change the truth that I am a part of this family. So still am I not in the position to say something here?" Nora asked in a soft tone.
"Yes Nora! You can state your words freely and independently." Damon smiled at her. He was happy upon hearing that Nora had accepted herself as a part of this family even if it looked against her own wish.
Nora smiled slightly in return.
Rosetta cleared her throat and stated in a meek tone.
"But rules are rules. They have to be punished as per this family's law but it can be changed in case someone else take their punishment. Because punishment has to be done at any cost. Now who would want that?" Rosetta smirked slightly.
A frown etched on Nora's face. She found herself falling in the same depth of her thoughts.
Another innocent soul will have to get hurt now?
Eli was about to approach them but his feet froze when Nora whispered.
"I will take their p-punishment."
"NO!" Damon yelled first.
"You won't be able to take it." Vincent murmured under his breath.
"FUCKING HELL NO!" At the same time, Angel shouted.
"This is stupid!" Hades mumbled in a bored tone.
"This girl is stupid!" Lucifer commented.
"You are not a fucking goddess or something to sacrifice yourself like that!" It was Hunter's turn to speak because for first three shocked seconds, he was not able to bring some words out without a string of curses.
This girl is still child. He reminded himself two times first before speaking. It was the same thing that William had said to his brothers when Lucifer brought her in the mansion first time after her escaping attempt. They needed to protect her from every danger by ignoring how much they disliked her.
"Umm well ok, we can't waste our time like that. If Eleanora is volunteering herself by her own choice, so we should not delay and just get over with it." Lana said in a calm tone.
"Release them!" Alexander ordered to the guards.
Sweat trickled down Nora's neck as she tried to prepare herself.
Damon's fists clenched in anger as he watched the guard approaching Eleanora to tie her in the same position of Serenity and Serena.
"Eleanora will not take this punishment. I don't approve it!" William's cold voice rang in the air as the guard was about to grab her extended wrist. His words sent relief in Damon's heart.
"So who will?" Lana asked in confusion.
"I will!" There was a tense moments of silence.
"Is it some fucking game or something? Eleanora has herself volunteered for this by releasing these two girls. You can't take it on yourself now!" Alexander growled at him.
"Don't you forget father that I am her brother. It is my responsibility to keep her safe even if it means by taking the pain of punishment, she has volunteered herself to." William stated calmly.
"I will not allow it! Eleanora will take this punishment as she had volunteered first. Take her here." Alexander growled at the guard who stood in front of Eleanora. He hesitated at first but then moved a step closer towards Eleanora.
He was about to grab her wrist but William's threatening voice stopped him.
"If you touch her, I will personally kill you!" That guard immediately froze in his tracks.
"Then I will do it myself." Alexander was about to take a threatening step towards Nora but Vincent pulled Nora behind his tall frame and stood in front of her protectively.
"Do you forget father that you are not in a position to make orders now?!" William chuckled, a dark amusement playing in his eyes.
"If I want I can kill you right here and right now!" Alexander gritted his teeth in anger.
"William can repeat this statement for you too, dear father!" Lucifer smiled sarcastically.
"RULES ARE THE RULES! YOU WILL ALL FUCKING FOLLOW THEM! FUCKING COME HERE ELEANORA!" Alexander yelled in anger.
Nora flinched in fear.
"MY WORDS ARE THE FUCKING RULES HERE! DON'T YOU FORGET, I AM THE FUCKING KING OF THIS EMPIRE!" William yelled back at him. The veins on his necks looked ready to pop out.
Eleanora's trembling hands unconsciously clutched the back of Vincent's jacket in fear.
"I only called you here because I wanted you to meet your daughter. I thought you might have changed. But no you could never! Do not make me banish you again from this country!" William threatened in a calm tone.
He removed his shirt and nodded at the guard.
"Do your worse in these 30 whips." Alexander gritted.
William's lips curled in a victorious smirk.
"I think you forget Alexander that you have whipped me more than 100th times once with the same looking whip. I was only 13 years back then. I didn't die at that time! Do you think I will die today with just 30?"
Nora's stomach twisted in guilt as the first hit came piercing the air and slashing William's back.
She tried to block those sounds but it was just too hard. William never once yelped or gasped in pain. He stood there quiet, with his hands behind his back and a stoic look on his face.
His emotionless eyes just never left her teary ones.
