Cleo, Rikki, and I hung out at the moon pool. We were set to prepare for the full moon which was later on. Neither of us knew what would happen. Cleo was anxious about either of us getting moonstruck once a month. Rikki and I were trying to help her feel at ease and that we had plenty of time to get set up.

"It's no good," Cleo sighed as she was doing the dead man's float, "I can't relax."

"Just close your eyes and float," Rikki told her.

"I just keep thinking about tonight."

"That's hours away. Until the full moon actually rises, why worry about it?"

"OK. You're right."

Cleo spread her arms out to try and calm herself, "I can't do it." She rolled herself and I moved out of her way, "I keep seeing strange things happening."

"The full moon is gonna rise anyway," Rikki explained, "There's nothing we can do about that. So, just think positive. We're lucky Emma's family's going away for the weekend."

"I guess. Well, should we get Lewis to help us seal the rooms?"

"Lewis has other interests these days, remember?"

Cleo splashed Rikki.

"I asked Patrick to help us out tonight," I jumped in recalling having explained to him what had happened on every full moon.

"Great idea, Zoey," Cleo nodded, "It'll be his first time having to deal with any of us affected by the moonlight." She sounded uncomfortable since she was used to having Lewis help us on those nights.

"Well, it's the only option we have," Rikki agreed with me, "Come on then. Let's go."

The three of us submerged underwater and swam straight back to the mainland.

While Cleo and Rikki met up with Emma at the cafe, I headed for the lifeguard tower since Patrick was close to finishing his shift. He had told me once he was done with work, he'd meet up at the Gilbert house. I decided to surprise Patrick by getting to the tower as he finished for the day. Right on arrival, he was climbing down the ladder along with Sonny.

"Hey, guys," I smiled at them.

"I thought we were meeting at Em's place," Patrick pointed out.

"We are. Just wanted to surprise ya."

"Yet again, you're full of surprises, Zo."

"So, what have you two lovebirds got going on tonight?" Sonny asked grinning.

"The girls and I asked him for his help on something," I answered.

"Yeah, they just need an extra hand," Patrick added.

"Mind if I join and help the sheilas out too?" Sonny grinned.

"Maybe some other time. Sorry mate."

"No worries. Catch ya later mate!"

Sonny took off in a jog.

"Sorry about Sonny," Patrick apologized as we left the beach, "When it comes to girls, he tries to be at the scene with them. It's one of his reasons for working as a lifeguard."

"Maybe he's trying to find the right girl for him, the kind of girl who he can connect with easily," I guessed.

"You know you might be right about that one, Zo."
