On getting the heads up that it was a full moon night, Cleo notified me of her plan to have the four of us spend the night at her place. After getting Dad and Fiona's permission, I packed an overnight bag before heading to work. Even though the girls and I had already worked out the moon issue, we still felt the need to play it safe.

Cleo and I got off work simultaneously and headed for the Sertori house. It turned out Mr. Sertori and Kim were heading out for an overnight visit with Cleo's aunt, which was great timing. Rikki and Bella arrived and all four of us girls hung out in the living room making it appear that we were studying up for the revision even though we had completed it already.

"Come on, Kim," Mr. Sertori called up to his youngest daughter, "We'll never get to Auntie Belle's at this rate."

"I'm still packing!" Kim hollered.

"It's only overnight. You should be coming too, Cleo."

"I know, Dad. But I mean, if we don't do this revision, we'll never catch up," Cleo nodded.

"Don't worry, Mr. S, we'll be revising so hard, we won't even know you're gone," Rikki assured him.

"Sure you will," Kim muttered as she arrived downstairs pulling a suitcase.

"You've got to be kidding," Mr. Sertori remarked at seeing her large piece of baggage, "No way. No."

"If I can't take this, I'm not going," Kim snapped.

"I mainly just pack a backpack and I'm set," I mumbled noting the ridiculousness of her ginormous overnight bag.

On the many trips I've been on with Dad and Mom, I developed a habit of packing just a backpack to avoid the headache of checking in luggage. Both Mom and Dad found it easier to pack just a personal item or carry-on. We'd ship home whatever item couldn't fit into our bags. Fiona too had found it easier to pack minimally. During her backpacking trips, there were times she had to check her bag due to whatever airline had a restrictive baggage fee.

Bella nodded at me.

"Don't work too hard, girls," Mr. Sertori turned to us as he and Kim headed out the door.

"Try and stop us," Bella joked.

"And that completes our revision," Rikki grinned the second the door closed and shut her folder.

"It's scary," Bella smiled at her after clicking her mechanical pencil shut.

"What?"

"You're such a good liar."

"Liar? Please. I stretch the truth."

"Oh. OK. Alright. Well, you're better at stretching the truth than I am."

"Don't be so modest. You had Will thinking he went crazy on Mako pretty easily."

Rikki got up and headed for the kitchen.

Ever since the first night of the water tentacle, Will had been obsessed with uncovering the mystery behind what had happened to him in the cavern. It had been concerning us thinking it would all lead to the girls and me. Even though Will was a chill dude, neither of us were ready to tell him anything.

🌊

Cleo turned off the water system to prevent the water tentacle from traveling through the pipes. She started plugging all of the fossettes in the house to play it safe.
