Maxwell Augustus

Nobody knows me, I mean the real me...

I'm cold, and forced to walk down this road all alone, although that's nobody's fault besides my own, I chose this for myself.

I suppose Megan may be the closest to know me and the thoughts that run through my head but even she doesn't know the half of it.

"Maxie?" Lisa breaks me from my ever growing thoughts.

"What's wrong my Lisa?"

"Mmm nothing, I was just hoping I could have a sleepover with Juliet tonight? I already asked her moms and they said it was okay as long as my dad said I could and well... yeah."

"If her moms said it was alright then I don't see why not, I can crash with Megan tonight."

"What do you mean you're not in town?"

"I'm not sure if you remember but I happen to be a pretty well known assassin and sometimes Maxie... I have to leave town for work, if I had known you would be looking for a place to crash, I would have left my house keys with you and you know that but unfortunately I can't see into the future."

"I know shit. I'm sorry, I'll figure something out."

"Just ask Romeo if you can crash with him for a day or two."

"And how would I go about doing that? 'Hey...My uncle, father, and brother beat the shit out of me whenever they get the chance and since my sister is staying at a friends house, I really don't want to be home so can I just stay at your place for the night before I have to go back to the sick reality that is the life of Maxwell Augustus."

"I mean... Yeah. There are far more subtle ways to tell him but that's quite literally what I have been telling you to do for fucking months."

"Not a chance in hell Megz."

"Ciao Max, i tuoi capelli sono morbidi come al solito. Come ti senti oggi" Romeo states huskily as he enters my office.
[Hi Max, your hair is soft as usual. How are you feeling today.]

"I got to go." I mumble while hanging up — giving Megan no time to reply. "Bene... Wait, you know I'm still learning Italian... Did you just say my hair is soft?"
[Good]

"I did actually, I've always liked your hair... Anyway... What are you doing?" He asks, suddenly changing to subject.

"My brother and I got into a bit of an argument and I don't want to go home after work. Unfortunately I just discovered Megan was not out of town for a mission or something so now I'm looking for a hotel room in the area." I lie — almost like it's second nature, I guess in a way it is.
