It is a divine flower brought to earth by Lord Krishna from Indra's heaven. The Parijata tree is said to have been originally planted in Indra's gardens, but when Lord Krishna's wife Satyabhama expressed her desire to have the tree, Lord Krishna plucked it from Indra's heaven and brought it to earth A tree planted in the garden of Satyabhama, the Parijata flower is considered a symbol of divine love and devotion.

Satya Bhama was the only one who accompanied her husband to heaven, received their hospitality and brought the Parijata tree to earth.
