Trees swaying gently,

A soft breeze floating through

The sun shining brightly,

Ducks swimming peacefully

A body of water sits in the middle of a park,

Acting as the main centre piece,

Acting as the main attraction,

Allowing others to admire and gaze upon it

The water sits,

Peacefully undisturbed, tranquil,

Until a creature glides across,

Disturbing the peace,

Or until a stray leaf floats down,

Having been separated from the other leaves,

As it finds a new home sitting on top of the water

Despite looking pretty, tranquil,

Water serves another purpose,

For some, it acts as a habitat, one that some creatures are accustomed to,

For others, it acts as means to quench their thirst,

So that they will continue to live on and function,

For some others, it acts as leisure activity,

As they dive into the water,

As exercise, or simply to relax

The water can act as a mirror,

Reflecting anything and everything on it's surface,

It allows others to see things, reversed,

Sometimes revealing them to be more beautiful than previously thought

During the day,

It reflects the sun, and it's rays dance on the water,

Sometimes showing a mirage of colours,

It shows the trees,

Looming menacingly over the water,

Seemingly watching over

 When the sun sets,

Beautiful orange hues are reflected,

As it signals the end of the day for many,

Signalling it is now time to rest

When darkness falls,

The water reflects something different, something new,

It reflects a perfect white sphere, and the light that accompanies it,

As well as the smaller specs of light,

Ones that have their own beauty as well

For some, the water has a spiritual meaning,

Acting as a method of purification,

One that people can use to cleanse their souls,

One that people can use to wash their sins

For others, water has a different meaning,

Symbolising life and death,

As some believe that we are born from the water.

Accompanying this belief,

Is that we return to the water once we perish,

As it cleanses our body, our soul

Water, in its different forms,

Also acts as a serenade.

For some, it helps them relax, to rest,

The sound of raindrops falling,

Sometimes lightly tapping a window.

The sound of water running, flowing peacefully,

The sound of a waterfall,

As the water crashes against the rocks,

Or simply, the waves of the ocean,

Peacefully lapping at the shore

Despite having many forms,

Water maintains its beauty, its tranquillity,

No matter what form it takes,

No matter what it means for different people,

The water will maintain its beauty, forever.
