In the garden's dusk, her paws soiled with earth,
I recoiled in disgust at her untidy mirth.
Little did I know, in that moment of disdain,
Love's silent whisper would ignite, without refrain.

She, my lifetime companion, grooms me with care,
Her tender gestures, beyond compare.
Even in hunger, she shares her feast,
Her selflessness, a testament to love's endless feast.

Softly, he meows, his tail gently sways,
As he gazes at her form, in silent praise.
Lifeless she lies, yet he holds her close,
For in his heart, her presence forever rose.

"She will return," he whispers, eyes brimming with tears,
"For she holds more lives, beyond all fears."
And so, he waits, with unwavering grace,
For she's forever engraved, in his feline embrace.
