Shattered and devastated, her vision blurred,

Heart pounding, she pondered, oh Lord!

Why must my precious world endure such pain?

A free spirit, a soul unchained,

Drenched in grief, now feeling strained.

They hurt me, I healed, it took years,

Yet the numbness remains, along with these tears.

A flower that once bloomed so brightly,

Now confronts the darkness, as I did rightly...

I should have forewarned her, been more resilient,

Held her close, dispelled her fear's insistence.

She soothes her, holding her breath,

Why must the strongest women face such depth?
