Logan's Version (scene 10) - One sleeper hit wonder

The classroom scene starts...
Zoey: (hands a lesson note to Logan) I need u to continue writing this for them. Got to use the restroom real quick (leaves briskly)
Logan: Is that your way of leaving me with them
Zoey: (bluntly) Yes (laugh track)
Logan: Fine (holding the note and a marker. while Zoey leaves) Alright, class. We'll be copying notes again, and I'll advise that we do not make noise.
Aloysius: Ooh, this is gonna be good
Logan: (continues) And be as quiet as possible (sees Ifechukwu sleeping). Though not too quiet (taps Ifechukwu) Ife, wake up. Time to write notes
Ifechukwu: (sleepily yawns) Good morning, Mr Logan
Logan: It's afternoon (sitcom laugh track heard in d background), and u ve been asleep all day
Ifechukwu: I was working all day yesterday
Logan: U don't work. You're 5
Ifechukwu: That's not true. I work. A lot
Logan: (drawing lines on the board) So what were u doing all day yesterday?
Ifechukwu: Washing clothes
Logan: Whose clothes
Ifechukwu: My dad's
Logan: (surprised, but chooses to ignore) This conversation is leading to nowhere
Ella: (muttering) Thank God u know. I was waiting for u to realize that
Logan: Whatever happens, do not sleep
(Minutes later, Logan is done writing on the board. He calls out)
Logan: Ifechi? Ife?
Ella: (writing) Sleeping
Logan: (Quickly turns around. He widens his eyes in surprise) Oh, not again (laugh track plays as he rushes to his seat and wakes him up) Move to Ella's seat at the front. U have a lot to explain. (Ifechukwu reluctantly swaps seats with Ella and starts writing. Logan blinks his eyes twice and is shocked to see him sleeping almost immediately) Oh no, u won't
(It soon turns into a battle, and we hear competitive music play in the background. This time, Logan takes Ifechukwu to Daniel's seat as a way to watch him better. But just as Logan sits down again, Ifechukwu starts to doze off while writing as well, Logan shakes his head in disbelief. Then, finally, Ifechukwu is taken back to his seat, and he starts to write once again. Laugh track continues throughout the scenes, until Logan sits again, heaving a sigh of relief) Dear God (another laugh track)
Zoey: (walks in) I'm back (pauses before turning to Logan again), and Ife is asleep again
William: (turns from Zoey and faces the table and has no choice but to scream!) How is that even possible?!!! (Ifechukwu is seen sleeping with books by his side, which have formed a bed-like structure, and his head on a pillow, on the teachers table, much to Logan's shock, covers his face in grief) How are u all kids? (Another laugh track as Logan palms his face in frustration. Logan stands up to wake him again)
Logan: I've had enough. Next time, go to bed early and never sleep in class agin
Ifechukwu: (yawns) I'll try. But someone has to be sleeping in the class every time
William: Who told u that has to happen?
Ifechukwu: My cousin. And he's always right
Logan: He's never right (quiet laugh track). But it's still not a good idea (opens his book), and I must say ur handwriting is pretty OK. However, it would have been clearer if u weren't sleeping
Ifechukwu: (smiles) Oh, teacher, u will get used to the handwriting (walks away amidst laugh track. Soon, the school bell rings)
Zoey: (sighs in relief) I'm so glad today is over. The stress is awful
William: Tell me about it. Aside from the fact that Ifechukwu sleeps a lot, everyone else's surprises are actually bad surprises. No valuable life lesson was learned (laugh track)
Zoey: That's impressive
(Then, a daycare teacher walks in)
Daycare teacher: (worried) Please, this will sound absurd. But I'm looking for one of the pillows I would have used for the babies today. And I was told it was here (Logan and Zoey look at each other in confusion)
Logan: (mutters) Pillow? (Realizes who took it and looks in Ife's direction)
Ifechukwu: (notices he's about to be caught, slings his school bag over his shoulder) Adios! (He walks out of the classroom, much to their surprise. Laugh track and heavy applause follows immediately. Scene ends)
