Chapter 7

"Derek, I know this is hard, but you have to breath" 17 year old Isabela, as she held 14 year old Derek's shoulders

"I'm trying" Derek groaned, as he felt his claws emerges from his fingers and his fangs appeared along with his yellow eyes

"Derek, just breathe. Find something that calms you down. Find comfort in anything, anger, your family, your friends" Isabela said, she looked back towards the entrance of the locker room, worried someone might come in

"I can't" Derek said desperately "I can't"

Isabela sighed "Derek you need to try something, anything. Find an anchor"

Derek didn't respond, he shut his hands and focused on Isabela's hands on his shoulders. He focused on the sounds he could hear outside, the birds, people talking, the tree leaves rusting. He focused on Isabela's voice.

Isabela watched in relief as Derek's claws and fangs retracted. Derek looked up at Isabela who smiled like a proud mother, his eyes were back to his usual green and he sighed and sat down on the cold cement floor

"What was your anchor?" Isabela asked, sitting next to him

Derek debated telling her, but he let out a sigh and replied "You"

Isabela sat at her dining table, after Mateo and Elena had gone to bed, she often thought back to when her and Derek were teenagers, how she helped find an anchor, how she gave him tips on how to talk to Paige, how she stood up against Peter for him.

Now she barely recognized him, he had changed so much over the past 6 year, which was bound to happen. She just didn't think he'd change so much, and for the worse.

Isabela had just gotten a call from Scott, saying to meet him at an abandoned parking lot. Isabela was now walking down the road when she heard The Kanima's screeching along with Derek's and Scott's roars.

"Oh, my god" Isabela sighed before she took off running in the direction of The Kanima's screeches

When she got there, she saw The Kanima being shot, she gasped and turned to see who was shooting. She felt a lump in her throat when she saw Chris with his younger brother, Micheal, also known as Isabela's first and only love

"Argent!" Isabela yelled, as she ran over, stepping over The Kanima's body "What the hell are you doing? There's a kid in there!"

Chris scoffed "Get out of here, Isabela. My fathers in town if you didn't already know, and he'll kill you if he sees you"

"Yeah well- Move!" Isabela yelled when she saw The Kanima appear from behind Chris, but before she could do anything, The Kanima threw Chris and Isabela into a wall

"Motherfucker!" Isabela groaned when she hit the wall, she frowned when she saw The Kanima walking to Gerad, but it didn't attack him

Micheal looked at his father in shock and confusion before he ran to help Chris up. Scott came out of nowhere and threw The Kanima onto the floor. Scott and Gerad stared at eachother before Scott took off in the direction of The Kanima.

Isabela didn't wait for Gerad to even look at her before she ran after Scott
