Chapter 27

The next thing I knew, I was in my bed. Will must’ve carried to my room. He was so sweet. I hopped out of bed and into the shower.

On Sunday, Tay wanted Will and me to double date with her and Matt.

She came over to get dressed with me. I scanned my closet before I found a floral dress that was beautiful. I curled my hair, and then I helped Tay with her hair.

I turned on my straightener and waited for it to heat up.

“So you and Matt?” I said while smiling.

“I think he’s gonna ask me to be his girlfriend.” She squealed.

“I would hope so! You have been seeing him for months. You guys are practically together; he just needs to ask.” I said while starting to straighten her long, blonde hair.

“I know, and this might sound corny, but when I’m with him, everything is perfect.” She said smiling. I started gagging, and she shot me a death glare.

“I’m just kidding. That’s how I feel with Will too.” I said while finishing her hair.

“Good.” She said as she sighed. “I just hope it’s soon though.”

I was going to make sure that it did happen quickly. I made a mental note to talk to Matt. I heard the doorbell ring.

“They’re here.” Tay sang.

She ran down the steps to answer the door. The boys were standing there waiting for us. I walked over to Will.

“You look beautiful.” He whispered into my hair. I blushed.

“Let’s go.” Matt said.

We followed Matt to his car, and then we piled in. I sat in the back with Will, and Taylor and Matt sat in the front. We made our way to a fancy, Italian restaurant.

“Reservation for Grant.” Will said as we stepped towards the hostess.

“Your table for four is ready.” The hostess said. She looked to be about twenty years old, and she looked bored out of her mind.

She showed us to the table, and we took our seats. I decided now would be a great time to talk to Matt. I whispered into Will’s ear what I was doing, and he nodded.

“Um Matt, I think I left something in your car. Do you think you’d go with me to get it?” I pleaded.

“Yeah, of course. Be right back guys.” He told our friends as he stood from his seat. We made our way out the door. “So what’d ya forget?”

“Nothing.” I said. He stopped walking.

“Then why-” he started, but I caught him off.

“I’m here to talk to you.” I said with a stern face.

“’Bout what?” he asked nervous.

“Taylor. She likes you, and I know you like her. She wants you to ask her out, so do it already. Just don’t tell her I told you, ok?” I spoke.

“Ok?” he said confused. I rolled my eyes and sighed.

“Just ask her out, ok?” I said as I started to push him through the doors. “And do it soon.” I added.

We walked back to the table, and I took my seat. Will looked at me, and I nodded back at him with a smile. Things were going according to plan.

“So what are you guys ordering? I think I’m getting the lasagna.” I asked.

“Chicken.” Tay responded.

“Spaghetti.” Will answered. I looked to Matt.

“Steak.” He said.

We ordered our meals, and we waited for them to be served. We chit-chatted for a while until our food came. The food was delicious. My lasagna melted into my mouth.

After dinner, we went to take a walk in the park. I purposely dragged Will away from Tay and Matt.

“Next week, right?” I asked worried. He knew what I meant.

“Yeah, next weekend. Don’t worry though, I will be with you. He can’t hurt you anymore.” He responded as he pulled me closer.

“I know, but I’m still afraid.” I muttered into his shirt.

“It’s ok.” He said as he stroked my hair. “Everything will be fine.”

We talked a little more about the upcoming court case, until Tay and Matt found us. Taylor was beaming all over, and I knew my job was done. I winked at her, and she blushed.

“Let’s get you girls home.” Matt said.

We piled into his car and drove home. I was exhausted and ready for bed. Matt dropped Tay off at my house because she was spending the night. She always spent the night, despite if we had school the following day or not. I gave Will a kiss before I left.

Tay and I made our way to my room. I took off my dress, and I dressed into my pajamas. Taylor had a drawer in my room for her clothes, so she didn’t have to go home.

“So?” I asked while waggling my eyebrows.

“He asked me.”” She squealed.

“I knew he would. You two are so cute together.” I said. Taylor started jumping up and down.

“I’m so happy.” She said as she flopped down on my bed.

“I’m sure you are.” I was pleased to see Taylor happy.

“This is going to be great.” She beamed.

“Let’s just get some sleep.” I said while throwing a pillow at her.
