one day i was taking a stroll on the moon
when i found a glass bottle half-buried
in the moondust.there was a yellowing paper inside
covered in rushed writing
that seemed to go on and on;
i suppose it must have been written
by a homesick
adventurer.this is what it said:
sometimes i miss
the smallest things in life:the sound of ice cracking when you step on it
the rustle of trees in the wind
how clouds glow when they cover the moonthe bark of dogs in the middle of the night
the bubbling of coffee in the morning
the calm hum of a car during midnight drives
the orange light of sunsets
when all the streetlights turn on in sync
i just miss the little things.i didn't know what most of it meant,
but they must have written from the heart,
letting all the things that
meant the most to them
pour out on paper.so, i decided to add to their note
in case anyone finds it in the future.
here's what i wrote:up here, there are different kinds of beauty:
the glow of meteors flying by
the scrape of moondust under my boots
the steady flickering and dimming of stars
the eerie silence and stillness
the beating of my heart in my ears
the steady breath escaping my lips.— sometimes you must find beauty in yourself, dear adventurer.
