i spend days watching it, in awe at the sway of rolling clouds that flash with purple electricity
and seas that change color with the wind calm blues roaring greens.
i've seen angrier clouds; ones of smoke and destruction that leaves everything looking gray and dull and dead
but most heartbreaking of all?
i've seen snow melt and glaciers disappear.
i used to love them, you know. i still love them.
snowfall meant my birthday. the earth would gleam like a star, and twinkle with an icy light that filled me with unending joy
now, the white is only a sliver of what it once was. sometimes my birthday never happens and i don't get a chance to make the three wishes i so carefully chose
so, if you're on earth, please protect your planet. it's beauty is rare and fragile
and, it's the only planet you can survive on.
