Pag-uwi ko ng bahay, lutang pa rin ako. Diretso lang akong naglakad papanhik ng kuwarto ko, I remembered how my parents and brother we're calling me and followed me to my room but because I was so preoccupied with my talk with Calixta, pinagsarhan ko lang sila ng pinto.
Naiintindihan ko naman sila, their one and only daughter goes home crying as if she've lost everything and the worst is, they don't have any idea what's going on.
I decided to get up para samahan sila sa dinner. Ayokong mag-isip pa sila kung anong problema ko, cause as much as possible, I want to deal with my own issues. I feel like I'm already mature enough to handle things on my own. And mostly because my brother has been so noisy this past days because of my relationship with Deon.
Pagka-baba ko sa hapagkainan, naupo ako sa usual spot ko sa tabi ng kuya ko. I can't looked directly at my parents dahil sa alam kong pamumugto ng mga mata ko. But my silence is enough for them. Naiintindihan nila na dapat hayaan lang muna ako.
Until I heard someone clears her throat to break into the mood. Nilingon ko ito, and to my surprise, It was my girl cousin named Demi. From my father side.
"Oh my God! Ate Demi! Is this really you?" gulat kong tanong sa kaniya, agad naman niya akong niyakap ng napakahigpit. Ate Demi is 2 years older than me. At napaka-close ko sa kanila ng kuya niyang si Zenon.
"I miss you baby cousin." balik-bati niya sa akin. "Nakakatampo ka ha! You just ignored us kanina. What was that?"
"I'm sorry Ate.. I was just thinking something kaya hindi ko napansin." hinging paumanhin ko.
"Okay. Okay." Kuya Hayden tap the table to get our attention. "Continue with your kamustahan later. It's getting late, Kumain na muna tayo."
We broke our hugs, then I glared at my big brother na nakaupo na sa harapan ko.
"Kuya Zenon?? Ikaw din?" masayang bati ko dito ng makita kong nakaupo siya sa tabi ni Kuya Hayden.
"Hi baby cousin. We missed you." bati niya saakin then wink.
"Awww.. The four of you are the sweetest. Pero, sige na't kumain na muna tayo."
My mother complimented us. Tumango naman kaming apat na magpi-pinsan, I looked at both on my parents and saw my daddy smiling at me.
Our dinner was full of laughter and joy. Then, later on that night. Nagtabi kaming matulog ni Ate Demi. Just like the old times.
Kinabukasan, Ate Demi decided to have a party at the pool at sinabihan akong i-invite ang dalawa kong matalik na kaibigan dahil magluluto daw siya ng kaniyang specialties na Poutine for our snack.
At ng makarating na nga ang mga kaibigan ko, tuwang-tuwa nilang niyakap si Ate Demi. Dahil ka-close din nila ito.
Makalipas ang ilang oras, nagalas-2 na kaya umahon muna kami sa pool. Nagpa-alam si Ate Demi para kunin sa loob ang snacks na inihanda niya kanina pa. Nang makapasok na ito sa loob, Courtney tapped my shoulder, kaya ibinaba ko ang iniinom kong juice saka siya nilingon.
"Hailey.. Does Ate Demi knows about Deon?" curious na tanong ni Courtney.
"Hindi pa naman." malumanay kong sagot. Pero agad din akong nagtaka dahil sa pagtatanong niya kaya nilingon ko ulit sila ni Cym.
"Why? Did she ask something?"
"Uhmmm.. Kasi.. " I can clearly see how Cym looked so hesitant to answer.
"It's okay.. It's just ate Demi." I chuckled then sip on my juice again.
The twins sighed. Pagkaraan ay sumagot si Courtney. "Actually, kanina ng umakyat ka sandali, Ate Demi asked me if you already have a boyfriend."
