Chapter 11
Forcing something or someone to the place where you wanted it to be is probably the hardest thing to do.
But, forcing someone to understand you is definitely the most hardest thing to do. Why? Because no matter how you explained everything to them, if they don't want to listen to you, it will not change the fact that they can't understand you. And will never do.
"Hailey... Final practice na natin today... Finally, our freedom is coming." masiglang turan ni Cym habang iwinawagayway ang magkabilang kamay sa ere.
"Hmm.. Tapos niyo na ba lahat ng requirements na ipapasa?" pagsagot ko.
"Yup.. Para sana wala ng balikan pa dito sa school.. Everyone will definitely be busy for their vacation." Si Courtney ang sumagot dahil busy si Cym sa pagkalikot sa cellphone.
"I guess, even you is excited for the vacation huh? May plano na ba kayo ni Cym?"
I asked her saka inilagay sa tabi ko ang sling bag ko.
"Wala pang definite plan na naiisip si Cym. We're thinking kasi to have a trip outside the country with you. Like what we've talk about before." sagot ulit ni Courtney.. Kaya naalala ko rin ang sinasabi niyang napag-plamuhan naming tatlo.
I just sighed then surveyed the gym.
"Bakit wala kang imik? Is something wrong?"
May pag-aalala sa boses ni Courtney ng mapansin ang pagtahimik ko.
"Nothing.. I was just reminded of my mission for Deon."
"What about it? And speaking of Deon, I heard he's absent today, Prof. Ellen was fuming mad earlier dahil mukhang marami-raming absent. Did you heard from him?"
Natigilan ako sa narinig. Dahil ang totoo niyan, halos tatlong araw na ng wala akong balita kay Deon.
Last week pa ang kita namin ng mag-yaya siyang kumain sa labas few days after our picnic. Then after that, di na kami nakapag-usap till now.
"Huyyy.. Ano na? May nangyari ba?" pag-yugyug sa akin ni Courtney. Nakuha naman namin ang atensyon ulit ni Cym kaya nagtanong din siya.
"What's the matter here? Hailey.. Why are you silent?"
"I'm just asking her about Deon."
Ngumiti ako sa kanila.
"Chill guyss... Everything's fine with us. Nagulat lang ako kasi wala naman siyang nasabi tungkol rito."
"Hailey.. I'm telling you this as your bestfriend, I still can't accept this.. Itong mga pinag-gagawa mo for Deon. And no matter how hard I try to, I just can't understand you." tapat na wika ni Cym.
Seryosong nakatitig siya sa mga mata ko. Sa kanilang dalawa ni Courtney, Si Cym anh tipo ng taong may matinding trust issues. Habang si Courtney naman ay isang composed na tao.
"Cym. Napag-usapan na natin to. And besides, Hailey clearly told us that she's planning to put an end to this." pagsaway sa kaniya ni Courtney.
Napansin marahil ni Cym ang mas lalong kawalan ko ng imik kaya agad siyang tumabi sa kinauupuan ko na ngayon ay naging pagitan nila ako ni Courtney para hawakan ang magkabila kong kamay.
"I'm sorry Hailey.. I'm sometimes padalos-dalos with my words. I don't mean to offend you."
"It's alright. Naiintindihan naman kita. And I know you didn't tell me this to offend me. You're just worried of me." mahinahong sagot ko sa kaniya. Dahil totoo naman. Nang pumasok ako sa bagay na ito, inihanda ko na ang sarili ko sa mga bagay na maaring sabihin sa akin ng mga tao.
