Chapter 10

One sided love is never easy.
I admit that.

You'll definitely get hurt accidentally or not, and the sad part of this was, you must be prepared to take it all. The pain.

One sided love will put your heart in so much grief, in where you can't blame anyone but yourself, for making things hard on you.

But for me, I do believe that, you shouldn't hide your emotions in the fear of getting hurt. After all no one can control their feelings and stop their heart to fall for someone.

I smiled bitterly while looking at the picture on my phone. It's a photo of me and Deon smiling together while I'm holding the teddy bear and Deon put his hands on my shoulder. The photo was taken ng nag-date kami sa amusement park, at napanalunan namin ni Deon ang teddy bear. Kinunan kami ng litrato ng may-ari ng store for remembrance daw.

But I guess, even this picture can't be keep as memory from him. Sooner or later, I have to end things clearly. Pinunasan ko ang patak ng luha sa aking mga mata saka pinakatitigan ang mukha ni Deon sa aking cellphone.

Bakit ba kasi nagpa-pakatanga ako ng sobra kay Deon? Bakit ginagawa ko ang mga ito? Bakit lubusan kong hinahayaan na masaktan nang dahil sa kaniya?

Siguro yan ang mga tanong na nabubuo sa isip ng sinuman na makaalam ng ginagawa ko. Maging ng mga matalik kong kaibigan na sila Courtney at Cym.

All I can say is, trying is much better even if you lose, than losing without even trying.

I'm not trying to get his love back. I want him to return to his old self without any damage cause from his heartbreak. Even if it's mean leaving me broken.

Nakarinig ako ng dalawang marahang katok sa pintuan ko, at sa takot na baka mapansin ng kung sino man amg pag-iyak ko, agad akong nagkumot saka tumalikod.

Nang hindi ako sumagot, nabuksan ang pintuan ng kuwarto ko at nakarinig ako ng yabag ng paa patungo sa akin.

"She's sleeping again." narinig kong wika ni Ate Demi, umupo siya sa may paanan ko.

"Hayaan mo na muna. Maybe she's tired from practicing. Late na nga din siyang nakarating kahapon." pagsagot ni Kuya Zenon na ikinagulat ko, magkasama pala silang dalawa. Nanatili akong walang kibo.

"Hindi ako mapakali ehh..  It seems like our baby cousin is not telling me something. " Ate Demi sighed.

"Demi.." pagsaway ni Kuya Zenon sa kapatid niya. "Let her handle her own matters.. She's our baby cousin but that doesn't give us any rights to invade her privacy. Hayaan mo, kung may sasabihin man siya o may tinatago siyang problema, she'll definitely come to you para humingi ng tulong. Alam mo naman yun diba?" dagdag pa ni kuya Zenon na mahinahong pinagsasabihan si Ate Demi.

"I'm just scared Zen.." mababang boses ni Ate Demi.

"What for?"

"I've seen the look of her eyes on our first day here."

"You mean when she gets home, na hindi niya tayo napansin?"
Pag-alala ni Kuya Zenon. "What about it?

"I know that look Zen. You saw me in that state too before. And right now, I'm afraid Hailey's going into the same path as I did."

Silence fill the air. Then kuya Zenon spoke again.

"Now, I know the reason why you're being so nosy ang clingy at her this whole time. But again, Demi... Magsasabi din siya. For now, I personally think that you have to let her be first. I know of all of us, you're the one who can definitely understand her. Right?" pagkonpirma ni Kuya Zenon.
