The Avengers, Steve's Little Secret

Ch. 23 "What to do"

                                                    Steve POV 

"Brooke what's wrong?" I asked again, 

All she did was shake her head no and hug me again, oh here we go again, she only does this when she's really upset about something, 

But I just can't see this being about a stuffed toy, I thought 

"Brooke you want to come to me so we can go check if Wanda fixed your Toy?" Tony said 

She just shook her head, and held tighter, 

"How about me shorty?" Bucky said holding his hands out 

She shook her head no again, 

I looked at both Tony and Bucky concerned, 

Now I'm concerned she normally jumps at the opportunity to spend time with either of them and she doesn't want to, 

Wanda walked in, with the toy, 

"Here you go Brooke good as new," She said handing her the Toy, 

Brooke hesitantly took the toy, 

"Come on Brooke why don't we go find Pietro and we can go get some ice cream," Wanda said 

She looked at me I nodded, 

Brooke hesitated but eventually nodded, and I handed her to Wanda, Brooke held onto the toy as she looked at me sadly over Wanda's shoulder, 

"You do know what that was about right?" Bucky said 

"No clue," I mumbled 

"I didn't think she would be that upset over a toy," I said 

"A toy- come on Steve when was the last time you spent any time with her one on one," Bucky said 

Tony nodded, 

Come to think about it, that was just before we left the house to live here, 

"Oh god, I'm such an idiot," I said bringing my hand to my face, 

"Yeah, yeah you are now what are you going to do about it, because I don't like to see the little bumble bee cry like that," Tony said 

"I.." I paused 

"You better think of something, because Brooke may not say it but she misses you, and you need to make that up to her," Bucky said crossing his arms, 

"I know, I know," I said sighing 

                                                Brooke POV 

After we had some ice cream, I was walking with Wanda and Pietro, I was holding Pietro's hand as we walked back to the tower, 

We walked in and see Tony, 

"There's my little bumble bee," Tony said lifting me above his head which made me giggle 

"There's that smile I've been looking for," He said 

"Come on why don't you come with me and help me out," He said 

"Okay," I said quietly 

                                         Steve POV 

I paced back and forth in the living room, Bucky sat on the couch watching me, 

"How could I be so blind and not see this," I said 

"Well you have been distracted lately," Bucky said 

"But I shouldn't be distracted from her," I said 

"Look we can go to what if's all day but we don't have time for that, the real question is what are you going to do about it," Bucky said 

I stopped pacing 

"What am I going to do?" I mumbled
