Our new human main protagonist of the sequel trilogy, Cade is an aspiring inventor from Texas with a passion for robotics who lost his wife in the battle of Mission city 10 years ago when Tessa was only 7 years old, turning him into an anti-social alcoholic introvert who spends most of his days cooped up in the barn sipping beers and working on machines rather than spending quality time with his teenage daughter, but that all changes when he purchases a familiar-looking red-and-blue semi truck from a scrapyard that turns out to be none other than Optimus Prime. much like Optimus, Cade is in a dark place when we first meet him which is why the two relate to each other so much. just as Cade restored Optimus's faith in humanity, Optimus restores Cade's sense of hope and optimism (no pun intended) during the road trip across the country to re-assemble team prime and put a stop to Cemetery wind once and for all as he begins to open up and bond with his daughter more through the whole adventure.

Tessa Yeager

Cade's 17-year-old daughter who lost her mother when she was a small child during the battle of Mission City 10 years ago, Tessa spends most of her life caring for her father, rather than him taking care of her as he's too busy drowning in his depression. she desperately tries to help her dad out any way she can, even though he shuts her out. but that all changes when her dad brings home a broken-down 1980s cab-over-engine semi truck which turns out to Optimus Prime who takes the yeagers on the road trip of a lifetime to re-assemble team prime and put a stop to Cemetery wind once and for all. Tessa was a huge fan of the Autobots when she was a little girl, which is why she forms a close friendship with Bumblebee (she used to have his action figure when she was little!) and father and daughter start to become closer to each other during the whole adventure.
