CHAPTER 18

I opened the door and saw Jane, " Hey, what's up?",

"Hey, why are you all dressed up, are you going somewhere?", she asked,

"oh heh, yeah, I have a date with Kayla so that we can catch up",

" Oh that is good, when will you be back though, I am very bored here"

"Don't worry, I will be back as soon as possible, and then we can go somewhere. Sounds good?"

she smiled, "yup sounds good, see ya".

After 10 minutes Kayla was also there, as I expected she took me to pops, it had been so long since I met Cam, she must have been so worried about me. I didn't tell anyone before running away, I didn't have the time to do so.

"Kay, how is Cam doing, I hope she wasn't very worried about me", I asked

"Oh El, when she heard the news that you ran away she cried and we both missed you a lot," she said,

We opened the door to that same old diner which was more like a home to me than my own house, it looked the same as it did a couple of years ago. Same red paint which was a bit worn out now, the tables, chairs, and oh that ever-so-good smell of Cam's special pancakes.

Cam saw me standing inside her diner, she looked at me with her eyes wide, "El, is that you?" she asked in disbelief while walking towards me.

"Yes Cam it's me," I said while opening my hands for a hug, she came running and hugged me, so tight that I wasn't even able to breathe.

She let go of me and looked at me, "Oh my God El, how are you, I was so worried, where have you been, how are you back, I missed you so much" she attacked me with questions,

"ok ok, Cam slow down. I am hungry, how about you make me my favorite pancakes, and then we can have a nice talk?"I said,

"oh yes yes, of course, go have a seat, I will be right back" she smiled and went into the kitchen,

We sat in one of the booths, "She missed you, El" said Kayla,

I sighed, "Yeah, I could see that",

"So tell me what did I miss?"I asked,

" oh you missed a lot, I don't know where to start, let's see after you were gone there were search parties for you, Jackson's wolf refused to come out, and your brother was literally soulless, everything was just a mess"

"Wow, I didn't think that me running away would have that much of a dramatic effect," I said genuinely Lil surprised.

 "Yeah, then a few months later these rouge attacks started,  first they were very less in number and we were able to handle it but later they just kept on increasing, and then the pack started falling apart, so we had to call the royals and ask them for help."

" And that is why I am here, but isn't it weird how are there so many rouges, they must have someone who is leading them, the mastermind behind all this but what exactly is their agenda?", I said

"We have no idea, it's just that these rouges have made our lives very hard to live"

"don't worry, now you have got the best people helping you. We will figure it out" I assured her,

" and also I wanted to tell you something, it's about my mate, I found him and he is" she was about to tell me but then Cam showed up with our food.

She took a place beside Kayla, I instantly smelled the delicious pancakes and took a bite, "Hmm, how much I missed this, they are just heaven. Your hands have magic"
