Location: Fort Padwell, Quan Dynasty

It was the middle of the night, the cold and calm gust of winds can be felt by all creatures around the world. Whether it be dragons, serpents, or worms, they all feel the cold wind the night gives. Normally, the light from the moon and the stars hits the ground and gives a bit of shine to the world, but in this case, the skies were covered with clouds, although some light from the moon could penetrate through some uncovered areas, the cloudy skies covered up any other passages for light to shine through.

Not much can be said on this peaceful and lovely night, after a long and stressful day of work, people all around the world are sleeping soundly, thus a mandatory and normal thing to do in this world at a time like this. Much like other people who want to stay up at night and gaze upon the stars, the body needs rest.

But that's not the case for the garrison soldiers in Fort Padwell, numerous soldiers patrol the walls to guard the fort and search it's surroundings for any potential attacks. Guarding the fort was not easy, especially in the dark, the only light source they have at their disposal are torches and the lamps dotted all around the fort, lighting the fort up for everyone still awake to see.

The fort was situated on a small hill, the gate facing the road that slowly leads to a large forest that blocks further view, the sides of the fort have very few trees & obstacles to hide any glaring eyes from the watchmen of the fort, the fort's behind however was completely bare, flatlands with the road to the first towns just a day or two away.

Along the walls, we see a pair of tired-looking garrison Quan soldiers going around, doing their usual patrol of the walls, one was an old-time guard officer of the fort while the other was a new one, who came from the many few soldiers who retreated from the Eastern front and joined in to bolster the defense of the fort.
