"I know, it'll just be for a couple of weeks. I just wanted to visit grandma and kinda forgot to tell you," I lied to Charlie easily, feeling a disturbing lack of guilt.

"Are you sure you're okay?" he repeated, doubt lacing his voice. "You're not erm- in trouble with the law or anything, right?" I scoffed, rolling my eyes,

"If I was -which I'm not-" I added quickly, "I wouldn't come to Abuela's, that's the first place you police would look," I retorted as a heavy sigh accompanied by static from the opposite end of the phone call.

"Just be careful, alright?" I had to hope Charlie would pass this conversation on to Billy because there was no way in freaking hell I was gonna call the man; he would be so furious and worried that his emotions would cause a flipping volcano to erupt on the other side of the world.

"Yes, yes, I promise," I replied before hanging up. I turned to Corvin, Charles, Peter, and Gabe with a Cheshire grin, "Who's ready to break seventeen laws simultaneously?"

--:--

Needless to say, zero lawbreakings occurred. "That has got to be illegal to sleep that long," Corvin complained. "I knew you were tired, but damn,

The boys were all gathered in my Abuela's dining room, situated across multiple uncomfortable chairs. The ever-serious Gabe was observing the house decorations, intellectual Peter was completing a word search, and proper Charles reading a thicker hard-covered book that could easily give a normal person a concussion with a good whack.

I mumbled incoherently back to Corvin, evicting the sleep from my eyes. Charles raised an eyebrow before returning to his book, flicking a page quickly. "What do we want to do?" asked Peter, his curelean eyes glimmering curiously. My phone buzzed and I flipped it open, glancing back at the boys and waving them off.

"I dunno, we used to go cliff diving on the Res," I told them, standing up from my chair and walking towards the front door. "I'll be right back, I've gotta take this," I gently closed the polished wood and answered the call, impatiently tapping my foot as it connected.

"Hello?" I mentally groaned as Bella's voice emerged from my phone. "Caroline? Is that you?"

"Who else?" I asked dryly, wondering what my half-sister's thought process was -if there even was one. I sighed, putting a posh accent on, "How may I be of assistance?"

"How may you be of assistance?" Bella sputtered, anger seeping into her voice. "You just up and left and I'm calling to check on you and you have th-the audacity to act like nothing is wrong!?" I held the phone away from my ear, my enhanced wolf-hearing picking it up with no problem.

"Okay, Bella, honey," I said condescendingly, cradling the phone between my shoulder and ear while simultaneously fidgeting with the multiple silver rings adorning my fingers. "My 'up and leaving' -as you put it- doesn't affect you at all. Second, please don't act like my mother, as far as I know, Renee is still alive and physically well -I'm not one to be judging mentally- and third, I'll let you know when I get back. At least I didn't run off to a whole separate continent without telling Charlie, okay?" Static-filled silence filled my ears as I calmly waited for Isabella to give a 'smart-witted remark.'

"I'm at Abuela's so don't worry," I offered a semblance of empathy to her, "I'm hanging out with the boys for a couple of weeks. I have to finish school anyway, it's all online since I missed a lot of days. I'm going to be graduating in two months if all goes to plan," I explained, giving Bella an extensive amount of details to shut her up, "If you need anything just text me from now on, 'kay?"

"Um, yeah," Bella replied. "Wait- the boys? As in Carl, Charlie, Pete, and Babe?"

I rolled my eyes, deadpanning, "Corvin, Charles, Peter, and Gabe. Gabe. How the heck did you get Babe? Who would even name their kid that?" I asked her. "Evlogiste tin ilithia psychoula sas," I muttered. I heard Bella ask a question in the background to which her darling boyfriend responded, relaying a translation of my Greek message.

"Caroline," a new voice greeted me.

"Oh dear God, save me, Satan would be even better than speaking to you voutia," I spat, the disdain dripping from my voice.

"The feeling is mutual, I assure you," Edward retorted. "Your pack is relieved that you weren't kidnapped by us. Sam wants to speak to you, however. He says you haven't shifted in almost three days and they can't even feel you remotely in the pack bond."

"Huh, that's intriguing," I mumbled, numerous scenarios streaming through my mind. Perhaps when I had decided to lead the Mexico Pack, I had been removed from the Quilete pack link. "I'll see you around Eddie-boy," I antagonized the stupid vampire before abruptly hanging up. I ran a hand down my face, trying to relieve myself of stress. I popped the front door open, positive the boys would hear me with their own enhanced abilities,

"Where do you guys go for a run around here?" Gabe appeared a moment later, his serious demeanor clashing with the smirk now placed on his face,

"Now you're speaking my language Alpha,"
