0.2 - First Day At Crystal Cove High, Part One

(A/M: The first meeting between Nibiru and Xavier, I'm going to save for a one-shot of its own.. since a scene where a kid who's been bullied all his life and the overarching villain in the canon timeline of SDMI meet and become friends is probably more complex than I feel like doing at this time. Apologies. Either way, we still get some interaction between the two in this chapter, so enjoy.)

Two days later..

Xavier's POV

If I had to describe what Crystal Cove High School even looked like, I'd honestly go with something along the lines of 'a Spanish monastery or religious school converted into a public school'. That's just for what the exterior looked like to me, honestly. But then again, it was most likely built that way to draw attention to the town's past as a Spanish missionary town that was lost to that curse, so I didn't really dwell on this particular topic too much longer as Dad drove me up to it on Monday morning.

To be honestly fair with you, given my past, I don't think anyone would find it even surprising that I was both very anxious and nervous, since this was my first time in a public school in three weeks. I mean, it was like the middle of March now - close to the middle of March to be exact, but still.. the thought of being back in the kind of place that to me was just a hellhole for me to be tormented in.. really wasn't sitting well with my stomach at all. At least I could take solace in the fact that at least I knew there was one student my age in this building that sympathized with me and my awful past, though it remained to be seen whether her three friends - and that talking dog - felt the same way as her.

As soon as I stepped out of my dad's truck, I could feel practically every pair of eyes turn in my direction. I honestly don't even know exactly what I had expected from this high school's student body, but from a glance, I could tell that I at least probably had about between fifty to a hundred pounds on most of the guys here. It was a bit uncomfortable being in the spotlight like this, I will admit, but at least I managed to push through it on this occasion. At least I had "N" to back me up with moral encouragement if things got stressful as well, I thought to myself as I walked past all those set of eyes and up into Crystal Cove High School.

In case you're wondering who "N" is, he's actually an actual supernatural entity named Nibiru, who once was evil for a long time - and indirectly caused a lot of the events of the curse of Crystal Cove due to the effect it had on people, which despite a change of heart on the part of the entity itself was still in effect even today. Somehow, he can telepathically speak to me in my head and apparently unlock some sort of cool abilities I have in myself, but neither know how to.. it's a long story between Saturday night to last night. I'll explain it all later.

Anyway..

I was pretty sure these teens, in the case that they had known I was coming here, had expected a skinny person like many of them, not the huge, hulking, physically imposing and intimidating guy that I was. I didn't know how many of them actually did, and to be honest, I wasn't really interested in finding out. I just wanted to get through my first day here and hopefully not go through a lot of torment in a single school day for once, that's all I really wanted.

Walking into the main office, I stood in front of the first desk I came to. The person behind the computer and desk in front of me, a red-haired man who was a bit shorter than me wearing glasses and with brown eyes, looked up and just stared at me for a few seconds. "You are..?" he asked finally.

"Xavier Marshall, transfer from Miami. I'm starting today" I said to the guy behind the desk, who immediately recognized me now and reached into a drawer and pulled out a piece of paper - which I recognized as being my schedule for here, given what was on it.
