Forever, Yet Not

Waking in the filtered light,

Gazing at your sleeping face,

Like a child caught in wonder,

Finding the love I dare not wish

Nor even hope to see

Or ponder.

You say my name, it soars up high,

Above the sunlit clouds, the sky is on fire.

Your words aflame, only I can hear.

My eyes may lie, but my heart can't deny,

You make me feel this eternity

Is near.

In the fading light, I hold you tight

Over the darkened sea, reflected in your eyes.

Forever, yet not, I lay this love,

Afraid to let go, though the stars beckon.

Pages,

Of the memories of  You

Are all I have.
