Chapter 6:Hush Now

Aki gently caressed Nomi's head, "how about this, do you want to see the stars?"

"Stars?"

Nomi sniffled, looking up at him and nodded

"but how are you going to make stars in the morning brother?"

some of the kids asked but Aki just shook his head and motioned them to be quiet, the kids quickly covered their mouth with their hands

"....."

Aki chanted a short spell, a language they weren't familiar with, the surrounding area becoming dark, engulfing them in darkness, all the children gasped as their eyes sparkled with excitement, stars started to descend from who knows where, it was like a gentle rain, the stars shone brightly, prompting the children to try and catch them, there were small ones and big ones, but all brought light equally, Aki reached up with Nomi still in one of his arms

like magic, he plucked a star that seemed to be stuck on the black surface, bringing it down to Nomi, her smile brimming as she received it

"take it, it's for you, it'll warm you up im sure"

Aki said, bringing the star to her palms, and in the blink of an eye, it turned into a soft star plush, and it stopped glowing, yet to Nomi it was the brightest star of all, the other stars the children caught became a floating nightlight, Aki let them keep it and told them to place it on their bed side table or just at the edge of the bed

Aki turned to Nomi "where do you want to stay Nomi? Do you want to go back?"

Nomi shook her head, displeased with his suggestion

"Can I stay here with them?"

Aki nodded his head as Nomi spoke

"I'll go see if they have more beds"

he said before placing Nomi down from his lap and went back inside, the others snickered, pooling around Nomi, all inviting her to a 'devious' plan of theirs
