"Everyone get down, we will stay here until they leave" Newt says making everyone crouch down
"Buttercup" Minho whispers in my ear
"Yeah?" I quietly ask
"Are you actually infected?" He asks
"No" I lie
"What but you said-" I cut him off
"I only said that, it isn't true" I fake a smile even though i hate the words coming out of my mouth, i hate lying to him
"Okay" He sighs and pulls me into his arms
This isn't gonna end well
I end up falling asleep in his arms
"Astrid" I'm being shook, i groan and lean more into Minho
"Buttercup, you gotta get up" Minho lifts my head up, i open my eyes slightly to see him staring back at me
"No" I say and try lean back into him
"We have to go, find somewhere to stay" He says
"I don't want to" I close my eyes
"Please just come" He says softly placing his hands on my cheeks, i open my eyes again
"I don't want to keep running Minho" My voice breaks as tears start to fill up my eyes
"I know you don't" He sees right through me and wipes underneath my eye, not letting the tears fall
"I hate this, i hate every single thing about this" They finally fall
"You guys go on down there, check everything out, grab every thing you need" Minho says to everyone, they don't say a word, they just leave, like he told them to
"Don't cry, please don't cry" He wipes my eyes again
"I can't stop" I sob
"It's okay, this will all be over soon" He pulls me into his chest again as he runs my back over and over
"I can't Minho, it won't be over soon, i just want to live a normal life, not run away forever" I sniffle
"We won't be running away forever, we will find a place to stay, far away from all of us" He tries to comfort me
"No you don't get it Minho, they want me" I pull away from his chest
"What do you mean? Astrid.... don't do what i think you're going to do" He says
"It's to keep all of you safe, i'll turn myself in, i can't bare to run away anymore Minho" I stand up and begin walking away
"Astrid wait!" He calls out and runs after me, he reaches me and stands in front of me, stopping me
"Listen, you can't do this, you wanna know why?" He starts
"I can't lose you, you're a fighter and you know that, we will get through this together" He puts his hands on my cheeks again
"I'm sorry" I put my hands on his and pull them away from my face gently
I begin to walk away again
"Astrid wait, i love you! You can't just leave!" He yells out to me
I stop in my tracks
Did he just say what i think he did?
"When i was being tortured the only thing that got me through it was you, all i thought about is how happy i would be to see you, to hold you, to hear your voice, i knew that i had to keep fighting, to get back to you, the thought of you got me through everything, you bring light to my darkest days, so no, you can't just leave, it would hurt to much, I love you buttercup and i don't think i could ever stop"
In this incredible, vulnerable moment, as Minho pours out his heart and confesses his love for me, tears stream down my face, carrying a mix of emotions
My heart feels like it is both soaring and breaking at the same time, but amidst the tears, a surge of courage and and longing overcomes me
Without a second thought, i spin around and run towards him, with each step my heart pounds in my chest, matching the intensity of the storm brewing inside me
As i reach him, our eyes lock, and i can see the raw vulnerability mirrored in his gaze
This instant, time seemed to have stopped, the world around us faded into the background, leaving only the two of us in this empty space on the mountain
With trembling hands, i cup his cheek, my fingertips caress his skin, the warmth of his skin against mine sends shivers down my spine, intensifying the electricity that crackles between us
A soft, breathless whisper escaped my lips, "I love you too" I confess
My voice filled with a mix of relief, fear and unbridled affection, i admitted this to everyone but him
And how good it feels now that i have
I close the distance between us, my lips meet his in a kiss that spoke volumes
This kiss fills with the weight of unspoken words, the kiss conveys all the love, longing, and vulnerability that has been building between us
Time loses all meaning as we melt into each other, our bodies pressing together, seeking solace and reassurance
The taste of my bitter tears mingled with the sweetness of his lips, it just adds to the sensation of the kiss
As we pull away, breathless and dizzy with emotion, our eyes meet once again, and a knowing smile tugs at the corners of our lips
"You're not gonna leave now are you?" He asks
"How can i, after that speech you gave? I'd be the worst human being to do so" I chuckle
"So, time to find a new home?" He asks
"I think that can wait a while" I smirk putting my pointer finger on his lips, shushing him as i lean down to his neck, placing soft kissed all down his jaw, ear and neck
