"What's going on?" I pleaded the general.

"These two friends of yours are accused of witchcraft." he hissed.

My eyes widened. Witchcraft? That is punishable by.....by.... death! NO! They aren't witches! They are innocent little angels!

"No! You must have been mistaken!" I begged.

"No. Now get out of the way unless you want to die too." he hissed, shoving me to the side.

I ran after them as they started to tie my friends to the stakes. Two guards were holding me back as I tried to get to Alec and Jane.

"Alec! Jane!" I screamed.

They looked at me with sad eyes.

"Go Aria. Go. Now!" demanded Alec.

The general took out the gun and pointed it at Jane.

"No!" I screamed, breaking from their grasp and taking a bullet for Jane.

The pain was immense.

"Aria!" screamed Jane.

The general grumbled before pointing the gun at Alec. As the gun fired, I summed up the last of my energy and jumped in front of Alec, sinking on the ground, his tears and screams inaudible to me.
