Demetri helped me onto a bed and asked me if I needed anything. After twenty rejections, he finally stayed silent and sat in a chair beside the bed, reading Macbeth.
"Why are you interested in three eyeless witches, Medusa, and murder?" I asked, smirking.
He looked up from his book, confused.
"Why wouldn't I be?" He counteracted.
"If you think about it, many lines that the characters say don't make sense. Or have common sense." I reasoned.
"But at least the villains sometimes won in these medieval books. Nowadays, the good guys always win in the end. So cliche." He sighed.
I thought about it. He was right....partially.
"I guess you do have a point." I sighed, imitating him.
He raised an eyebrow at me, then put on that smirk that signals 'oh you are so dead.'
And I didn't have my gift.
