'Can I say something, aunty?' I looked at Zain's mother while she was discussing reception plans with my mother over lunch after Zain and I returned from the lake house. Zain was talking to my father but when he heard me talking, he turned his attention my way.

'I was wondering...instead of having a big party why don't we just do something on a smaller scale, I know you and Mama want to invite everyone but I don't think it's necessary' I said to her. I wasn't sure if she was going to address my suggestion but I knew that for Zain these big events were not important. On our way back to his house we discussed about the reception and instead of telling me his views he told me everything will happen the way I want. I thought about having a big reception party but then I remembered when we met at Sana's dholki venue and Zain said he didn't understand all the hype that went into wedding planning, he liked intimate and simple things and I wanted the same.

'I have already made the list Maya, there are so many people who have heard about your marriage and they have called me to find out why everything was done so urgently, we must invite everyone and do things the proper way' Mama stepped in before Zain's mother could say anything.

'It's okay aunty, we'll invite everyone' I heard Zain say to my mother and I looked at him.

'It's going to be fun Maya, don't worry we'll take care of everything...everything will be done in a week' Anum was so excited that she had everything planned for our reception party. Seeing everyone so invested in our happiness made me so grateful. I was so lucky that I married into a family where in place of in-laws I got a second family, a second home to call my haven.

'I know but it just seems like a lot of work and I want to help but you're not letting me' I smiled at her.

'You are here that's all that matters' She smiled back.

'I need to bring some stuff over from my room' I told Anum after lunch. My family went back home after having lunch with us and invited all of us for dinner tomorrow.

'If you need anything we'll go and get it tomorrow...by the way where is Zain? He hasn't left your side since you got here' She said in a teasing tone making me blush.

'He went to his room; he said I am not allowed to enter his room until he says so...I am not sure what he is doing there' I told her and started helping to clear the dining table.

'No leave it here, I'll take of it' Anum grabbed the plates from my hand and made me sit down, telling me to stop working.

'Come on don't be like this now, I am part of this family, right? Then let me do this' I stood up and started helping her.

'Mama will kill me she told me no to t let you enter the kitchen' She said to me.

'It's okay' I replied.

'Maya' Seconds later I heard Zain calling me from his room.

'Yeah?' I called out.

'Come here' He said back.

'The king awaits his queen' Anum laughed as I went to go see him. I saw him standing in front of his room waiting for me as I walked towards him. He offered me his hand with a gorgeous smile on his face.

'You have your suspicious smile on' I told him as I took his hand. His smile grew as he opened the door for me and I stepped into this room. His room was completely different since I last remembered. In fact, his room looked a lot like my room now; the walls were painted in a warm pastel orange color with wooden furniture. There were lots of painting and colorful butterflies on the wall next to the dresser and the bedding was also colorful.

'This looks like my room' I couldn't help but smile as I walked around the room looking at things which reminded me of my own room.

'Thank you' I turned around and stared at him, his eyes watching me lovingly as he stepped towards me.
