Thank you so much for 500 reads! I didn't think people would like this book, so it makes me really happy that some of you are enjoying and reading my book!

Frances POV

I wake up early at 5:20. I turn onto my side in the bed to see an empty spot beside me. Tears slowly form in my eyes at the memory of him, I never even got to tell him how much I loved him, how much I was going to miss him.

I step off my bed shakily. I'm tired from the meeting I had yesterday about Britain and his kingdoms which are now full running countries. They could easily form Britain again by uniting for a second time, I would love to see mon amour again, but that is their decision not mine and I cannot force them into it, oh how the world is so unfair and cruel.

I tread quietly down the hallway towards the living room. I walk through the doorway of the living room only to find a country sitting on one of the couches. There legs are crossed and they have a book in their hands reading it intently. I walk closer towards them.
"Madainn na Frainge." They say. I don't quite understand the language but by the accent I can tell it's Scotland.
"Matin Ecosse." I reply in my own language. Scotland puts down his book turning around. He smiles at me.
"I did nae know yer remembered Scots Gaelic, or did yer just guess?"
"Really... I just guessed, I didn't know I used to know Gaelic?" I reply questioningly. I remember when he first appeared he said we were good allies back in the day.
"So you're saying yer din nae remember when we fought against England? When me guards protected your kings? The Auld Alliance? Oh wait... that one is quite embarrassing ter remember..."
I giggle at the last one. I do remember The Auld Alliance, one of my greatest decisions if I'm being honest. It's too bad it had to end in 1560 with the signing of the Treaty of Edinburgh.
"Me point is because we met each other so much yer learned Scottish Gaelic and I learned French, I still remember French though cause yer just said morning Alba."
I raise my eyebrow.
"But I Said morning Scotland not Alba?"
"Oh I got them confused again," he sighs. "Alba is Gaelic fer Scotland."
"Oh, don't worry everyone gets confused when they're bilingual or trying to learn another language to remember which is the right word to say," I said giving him a nod of understanding. "Anyway what are you doing up so early?"
He pauses thinking of an answer for a long time it gets to the point where I think he's not going to say anything but then he simply says.
"Nightmares..."

I didn't expect that response. Scotland seems like someone who wouldn't get scared by anything. It must've been quite a horrifying nightmare.
"May I ask what it was about?"
His eyes divert away from mine as he thinks, deep in thought. He sighs.
"They were about me past a certain battle against England, and 8 years later he did something... horrible... ter one of the warriors that led the battle."
Scotland and England fought many battles with each other before they were united. Some, or most, of the battles ended horribly and I think I know which one he's talking about.

"I'm sorry you're having these nightmares Scotland especially on such a horrible subject..." I pause for a bit letting my response sink in. "But I'm always here if you need someone to talk to."
"That's nice of you France but if one things right I can't trust anyone with my thoughts or feelings...it just ends badly..."
I wonder what has happened to him to make him like this. I guess it's from being with Britain because the amount of times they had an election on something Scotland's people would be the exact opposite to England's and Wales, but they had a bigger population than Scotland so they would usually win. Northern Ireland was a decent mix but usually more on Scotland's side. I don't know how to respond. I don't think anyone would know how to respond in this situation.

"Sorry France I must be getting annoying now...it's a school day isn't it?" He stands up with his book in his hand looking at me. I can see a hint of sadness in his eyes.
"Yes it is a school day I was going to make breakfast for everybody and get myself something."
"Ok, well, I'll make breakfast, ter prove ter England I'm better at making breakfast than him and ter let yer 'ave a break fer a bit."
"You really don't ha-"
"My treat." He interrupts me and walks to the kitchen.
I guess he's making breakfast then. What's the time?I look sup at the clock on the living room wall.
                              6:03
I'll go and wake everyone up.
